He's not manager, Parkie did not take much crap when he was assistant, but look at the piles of it he takes now. Okay some may say he deserves it an dhe is not very good. There is nothing to suppose that Powell will make a great manager. He will get more leeway than most others but we are a club in decline and even if we turn it around we are going to have a rocky few years ahead and the Charlton boo boys will turn very quickly on Powell or any other manager if the results do not meet our unrealistic expectations.
JR: You seem to be remembered fondly by fans of all the clubs you’ve played for, why do you think that is?
CP: Whoever you play for, you’ve got to remember that you’re wearing the shirt and you’re lucky to be part of the club. You should represent them in the way the fans want you to. They know you’re not going to win every game, but they want you to give them a bit of pride. People always talk about passion, but we’re all built differently. Some have inward passion and don’t show it outwardly, but I think your attitude towards the club, the team and the fans should always be at the forefront of your mind.
Sir Chris is not only a legend but speaks fundamentally about what a footballer should be all about:
"Whoever you play for, you’ve got to remember that you’re wearing the shirt and you’re lucky to be part of the club. You should represent them in the way the fans want you to. They know you’re not going to win every game, but they want you to give them a bit of pride. People always talk about passion, but we’re all built differently. Some have inward passion and don’t show it outwardly, but I think your attitude towards the club, the team and the fans should always be at the forefront of your mind."
It's so obvious really, but why are there some players who don't seem to get it?
I remember being at villa park and it being a landmark moment, a Charlton player, in my lifetime, playing for England , something I thought I'd never see ........
I cried when the game started tears of happiness
It seems like a lifetime ago
Now I've got the fucking JPT draw to look forward too ffs I hate Charlton
ha ha that picture was a private moment between lovers...... he's mine you stick with graham stuart and frazer and let me continue my long distance bromance with sir chris ......
[cite]Posted By: aliwibble[/cite]I can't decide whether he looks like he's paralytic and you're having to hold him up, or he's overwhelmed with the choice between blonde and brunette.
I bet he's worried as to how he's going to explain it all to his wife.
I don't know whether it has been mentioned anywhere before in any of the other topics, but Pardew was after Chris Powell to join his coaching staff at Newcastle which Leicester have so far rejected.

i had hold of his cheeks one day outside the players lounge telling him how proud i was the night he played for England.
i took it down as though up long enough.
Charlton Legend
Charlton Pimp
Do you blame him, trying to fight off 2 rampant females?
Tough life being a pro footballer.
Is that "Falconwood" on the right ?
