I can't see him spending much time in the dug out, though. Wouldn't he be banished to the stand during most games? But otherwise a great idea that deserves the mileage it's getting.
It surely has to be the top priority for the board to make an appointment within the next day or so, Phil Parkinson nice chap that he undoubtedly is really is not going to stop the rot.
DI CANIO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO thanks, would be banned by the FA for riding his scooter up and down the touch line waving his natty scarf above his head. It's Billy Davies for me. I would fear for the players if we did get Billy. He scares me from a distance not sure I would like to meet him close up even though he is 5 ft 4
My old Grandad would have a giggle. He did not have to buy a ticket to see a charismatic fascist lead a team of men, he got to watch close up and free as he was conscripted.
Facism - "a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism"
I am with Woody Guthrie's guitar on this one.
I can sit back now and wait the rantings of Fascist sympathisers who will tell me Paulo is the only person who can lead Charlton out of this mess and he should be allowed his totally abhorrent views. That he is, but I for one, don't want them at the Valley.
look he shouldn't have made the guesture i think most people have agreed on that.We are talkin about whether he could lead our team out of the pile of pooh we are in at the moment and I for one would love him to be our next manager.

".....he knows and understands where we came from and most importnantly I think the entire valley would get behind him and give him 100%, they may not agree to him being the right choice but they would warm to him instantly - there's not a football fan in the world who wouldn't."
Not sure this would count for much if we were 5-0 down against Derby or whoever.
Hate to be the lone voice but I think this would be a terrible choice. As Henry says, chest thumping and personality is great, but we need a strong willed manager to guide us out of this mess. Plus I don't quite understand the sentimentally with Di Canio. He's a West Ham legend but he only played one season with us then jumped ship to play for his other love, Lazio. That's not a reason not to give him the job, I just don't buy the idea that he has 'Charlton in his heart' and all that bunk.
Billy Davies should be our new General, IMHO. Not only did he rescue a post-relegation struglling team to survive, but bult a side for promotion.
Admittedly their rise came too soon and they bombed in the PL. But he's a good, solid, Championship wise head and - he's available.
Then you're likely to get a block put on your email address and none of them will be received.
It may sound a joke to you, but let people get on with their work. Waggott is a paid employee, he does what he is told from above, so you would be bombarding the wrong person anyhow.
An emphatic no to di Canio. He represents everything that is contrary to the ethics of Charlton. It would be enormously divisive and we can't afford for that to happen.

Without doubt the biggest load of RUBBISH I've ever read on this board.
Who says this would happen...what the F are you on about?

...but we are in the last chance saloon.
