If he keeps us up, I really couldn't careless if he leaves at the end of the year
Here's Paulo in his own words
The 40-year-old Italian was a cult hero during his time at the East End of London club, and having recently retired from football, he has turned his attention to the future.
The former Lazio forward hung up his boots in March while playing for Cisco Roma, and took his coaching badges in the summer. While he has set his sights high, he realises that he may have to start at a lower level before rising to the heights of the English Premier League.
"I took my badges just last summer because, of course, it is my target to become a coach somewhere in the future," Di Canio told Sky Sports News.
"My dream is to come back to England because this is pure and natural football with the passion and the atmosphere. It is unique in the world.
"But, of course, I must be open in my mind. What I would like to do in the future is coach in England.
"I have something special in my heart for West Ham, but I need to be open because I need to start somewhere.
"Once you start you can show your quality and can improve and try to do the best job you can in the future."
Di Canio also had spells with Celtic, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton during his time in the UK.
Blackburn game at home Frediel scores. Curbs had taken DiCanio off. Santa smashes ball in , in injury time 3 v2 . Paulo in the subs long coat , runs on pitch to centre circle, runs off and jumps on a coppers back ! how he didnt get nicked ill never know. Great thing to see.
[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]"special ethos---great club
and Celtic" should never and must never ever be used in the same sentance again on this board !
Well he is an ex-Celtic player and got well into the history and special ethos of that great club when he played there so I'm warming to him.
Come on Curb-It !! mate get with the spirit here. Probably no f**kin way he wll but its a fun sorta idea and God knows we need some fun back down there dont we.
[cite]Posted By: Goonerhater[/cite]AFKA mate yellw card the Cardigan Kid thats twice now !
Just pointing out that having played for a special club like Celtic he'll know all about building a special ethos at Charlton and leading them to European glory.
Loving the "Cardigan Kid" think I might change my user name.
i am now as excited by this prospect as i was about zabeel
you watch instead of the deal falling through Charlton will announce boothroyd and i will be as pissed of as i was when the dream burst earlier this year
i dont know if i should thankyou or be rude to you
Could work, maybe with an experienced coach (Capello?) to help him out.
No point building it up and then it doesn't happen but if he gets the job then I'll be backing him to make a success of it especially as he has played for two special clubs in Charlton and Celtic.

Just thinking of him and Nigel Winterburn shitting him self makes me laugh.
First thing he'll do is change the away kit to green and white hoops and have Hail Hail played on the PA.
Vote Di Canio
i love that footage, winterburns gay reaction is just gold.
get paolo in
The ref still took a dive for me..
vote El-Duchy oooooooooppps meant Di-Canio
Slightly OTT. I would say he's a real outsider and we don't even know if he is interested.
Parky or Poyet for me.

We tell him its a million ayear if he keeps us up. Then if he dont we tell him it was Lire not pounds !
Could just be a coincidence but maybe he'll act as translator for the the Italian coaches and players Di Canio brings over with him.
Plus if Di Canio come we can have pre-season games v Lazio and Celtic.
but do you know what it would be fecking blinding if it happened
At least we (all that count) agree it would be entertaining....
