Unless there is a specific person they are bringing in, I don’t think offloading Taylor is a very good idea. He was a very highly thought of player before his injury and by all accounts has had a good pre season.7

I am hoping for Iversen from Leicester.2
-
can’t see Iversen dropping down to league 1, I’d expect more interest in him from the champ than WaltonI-SAW-POUSO-PLAY said:I am hoping for Iversen from Leicester.0 -

Would be an ideal move, but would expect major championship interest.0 -
I think @Swisdom was hinting at that earlier with his mention of 57 varieties of keeper!!cafcfan1990 said:There is also an Austrian international called Heinz Lindtner. Mixture of hints available there, Beans and Swiss chocolate.

Even if we did want to loan him out, we definitely should not be giving him to clubs that would be considered a promotion rival.fenaddick said:Rotherham and Barnsley interested in loaning Taylor https://www.footballinsider247.com/rotherham-and-barnsley-make-moves-to-sign-terry-taylor-sources/2 -
So perhaps Taylor wasn't being 'rested' ahead of the next season... And Jones just doesn't rate him?0
-
It’s down to the defence to protect the goalie.0

Oh well, there goes that one.0

Get your thinking caps on.Swisdom said:Not fussed at losing out on Begovic. QPR fans were not exactly excited by him and he's definitely on the way down in his career. Probably would have been an expensive and risky signing
I believe we are looking at someone but, personally, think it's Mannion's shirt to lose at the moment. The guy we are looking at would probably expect to be first choice so it could be an interesting battle between the goalies. Or would it be a headache having 57 varieties of goalie pick from
. We'll leave that for Nathan to decide
Can't think of a keeper named Heinz.
Thanks for the assist:
Heinz Muller but I can't tell you my Source !
6ft 4in and has been at Hannover, Barnsley and Mainz.
All good; wait a mo ?
Ok stand down; Heinz is now 46 years old and has lost his bottle.
I'm going to have to ketchup with who's available.

Surely the club wouldn't entertain that sort of move...would they...🙄Chris_from_Sidcup said:

Anyway, back to the kebabs thread....3

Sounds like Potts might be the next signing. Would imagine that one is announced after the next exit.28

It was the first number that came to my head because I had the word varieties in my mind for some reasonMacronate said:

My German sauce says he is prone to bottling it, especially when the defence is in the brown stuff, but apparently is the daddy when it comes to spot kicks. He has not been playing recently but will ketchup quickly...soapboxsam said:Macronate said:

Gawd. Is this one of those adding to the sentance games!?

I wanted us to look at Archie Mair of Norwich. Young, and highly rated but doesn't seem to be on the radar.
I do actually think Mannion looked pretty solid against Pompey. Certainly more comfortable with the ball at his feet than AMB or Isted. I guess we'll have to see if he gets the jersey against Wigan7 -
If this enabled us to sign another player then yeseastterrace6168 said:

So many league 1 teams have Ex CAFC players.
Some better than others. May and Dobbo are the picks obviously.0 -

Interesting. As I pointed out we are short enough in midfield as it is without Taylor going, so find it hard to see that happening unless we have a real ace up our sleeve.fenaddick said:Rotherham and Barnsley interested in loaning Taylor https://www.footballinsider247.com/rotherham-and-barnsley-make-moves-to-sign-terry-taylor-sources/
Shows he is still rated in the wider footballing world with promotion rivals going in for him.
Bishop would be betterFishCostaFortune said:

I would prefer BishopShootersHillGuru said:Unless Jones really doesn’t fancy Taylor or we get a money bid too great to turn down I think we’d be mad to move Taylor on. He was very well thought of when we signed him and must be out to prove a point.0 -
Bishop is a completely different type of midfielder. Taylor is the cover for the CDM role, Bishop would be cover for Berry/Doc.19
-
Thank God you're not in charge then, as he'd be shit as the defensive midfield coverSouthbank said:

Genuine question, why is Potts being heralded as solid signing for us? Not played much recently and can't say he massively stood out whenever I saw Luton on their rise (admittedly, a handful games outside of playing us). For example, is he definitely an upgrade on Macca???Covered_End_Lad said:Sounds like Potts might be the next signing. Would imagine that one is announced after the next exit.1 -
Karl Hein could be the keeper...Arsenal books3
-
Would it hurt if he isn’t? Experienced cover for that left side, can’t see what is wrong with it, as long as his fitness isn’t an issue as he’s had some injury problems last couple of years.YannTheMann said:

Nearly 100 Championship appearances in the 4 seasons prior to last year. Still only 30, I would say if he stays fit then a very good player at this level. Quicker and better on the ball than Macca.YannTheMann said:

I said a few days ago when the deal was a possibility, I am not that desperate for us to get in a 37 year old keeper. Especially one many QPR fans feel is past his best.1
-
Not at all, in no way am I saying Potts is a bad signing! I just don't know enough about him either way and have been burned too many times when we sign a player and I try and do my homework on their previous appearances and they turn out gash for us (I am looking at you Chris Gunter)cafcfan1990 said:
