I thought I’d try and do a bit of sleuthing on his website, to see if he was ‘on tour’ with his goalkeeping football school (no success).
Ended up to see he’s got his own AB1 clothing range, quite impressive, goalies gloves etc
Also has a range of compression based layer shorts, no idea what they do, but might get a pair, and look like, was it Larry out of cameo, the 80’s band, ‘powered by goalkeepers’ , I like that phrase…

Oh well. I'm not too fussed about Begovic in particular but we must be down to our 4th/5th choice goalkeeper now. May be better to stick with Mannion & AMB and revisit in Jan.3

Something we will never know, but intrigued to know how much he was holding out for. Presumably he's been on decent wages in past, surprised he/his agent thought he could still get paid a lot when dropping to league one.2

Not many old goalies playing regular football these days . It’s much easier to sit on a bench and take the money than spend your last few years making errors- not much to gain as a keeper . The days of the likes of Kiely playing until 40 are over1

Not fussed about missing out on Begovic. Was a very good keeper in his prime but he is way past his best now.
I would imagine we go for a loan keeper now, plenty of decent ones out there.16 -
I think Mannion is good enough to start the season to be honest. Not too bothered, no point throwing the wage structure out the window and pissing off the squad. Onto the next.17

Still expecting a new keeper but it might end up being a loanee. Would guess most Prem sides will have taken their younger keepers on tour with the first team with Euros/Copa America and Olympics affecting if they have their first choices available. Now that's mainly done I'd expect to see loan movement.
Must be frustrating for NJ to have tried for Ruddy,Davies,Sinsalo and now Begovic only for none of them to come off.1 -

I would be going for Ben Wilson at cov personally, looks like he's going to be there 3rd keeper this year and I would imagine you could get him on the cheap5

Meh, oh well. Could have been alright for the experience, and imagine still good enough for our level while we bring on Mannion, but, at 37 not worth over paying for.1
