Whilst I kind of agree - surely the best thing for his family is to be living with them?

He's had a very good wage for a number of years so presumably has a few bob in the bank.

His family are living hundreds of miles away in Scotland so surely the best thing would be for them to be living together 

Agree. He’s stated that he wants to be with his family and that’s very understandable, so, I’d like to think that will be his priority and he’ll do everything to get back with them, including being flexible on his wages etc.,

There hasn't really been any vitriol.
It's fine for him to do what's best for him and his family's future security.  If that means they move North and he honours his contract here in London being apart from them then fine. 
If it means he wants to join them in Scotland straight away, also fine. 
Not sure why Charlton should be paying for the later though as it is his life choice.  Hence why we would be being helpful if we agree to pay part of his wages in that instance but shouldn't take the full brunt of any difference.  
Sounds likely he will move on and that seems the best solution for all parties.

As you can see, he's quite low down. Yes, I can see the situation from his side, but should I care? Should I care that he make an extra 2-3k while doing nothing to earn it? Because I don't. I care a lot more that he goes and we bring in a quality player with his salary. Because that could be the difference between getting out of this league or staying in it. 

Had he been a good player for us, I think I'd feel differently. 

When he's gone I won't give him a seconds thought but at the moment he is the person in control of his immediate future. 

Yes you will, you'll be updating us when he sneezes or burps, and update everyone on what he has for breakfast! It's what happens with our ex players; going to be painful with both SE7 branches of the Birmingham and Wrexham supporters clubs constantly spamming us...

It's like we've split up with a girlfriend and just can't let go, drowning in all the 'he said/she said drama'. 

...Count me out of that one mate!...🙄

I guess you would argue that this is probably the last high value contract of his career if he moves back up north of the border and unless he goes into a real purple patch in his career and gets picked up by Rangers or Celtic, then it probably makes sense from his perspective to see how out this contract and then properly move back next year when he's up.

I very much doubt that Scott Fraser or Scott Frasers wife and children care very much what your priorities are.

Selling his talent is a bit strong..,,if he had played half as good as he thought he was,someone woulda paid up by now wholly for that talent,but he ain’t worth it,so we are stuck with him…if he was an employee in any other trade,he woulda been jogged on with a mths extra wages in his pocket…yes I know this is football & it’s different but yeah be great if he could literally take what comes,not hold out for money from us,that he really hasn’t earned…

We may just have to get used to the fact that our GK position will be filled with AMB and Will Mannion...ok...🙄

It's one thing to acknowledge the mercenary nature of the modern footballer but it's another thing entirely to advocate for it. If players are just business employees then we must be the customers.
