Fraser doesn't want to be here. His family are all in Scotland now and he misses them. He can't move unless he takes a hefty cut in pay as nobody up there will pay him what we do. He has to choose between his family and his wallet.RonnieMoore said:

Assuming we got anything near £8m from Gomez then I'd expect most will go on reducing debt with a bit held back for January.
However, we still need a creative midfielder otherwise this summers rebuild will be all for nowt.
His lack of action in pre season says it all - he is not fancied and would be best placed being moved on25 -

Why would anyone want to sign a low energy, low production player who comes with a big ego and high wage expectations?

It's quite concerning we need to shift players that clubs probably won't want, to bring in new players. Shows how poor a lot of this recruitment has been, with a few exceptions of course.
We aren't ready to challenge the title imo, and I don't see Dixon and Begovic changing that. We need to shift some of this dead weight, and the people calling the shots may need to take a hit to do so. Looking at anywhere between 5th to 14th with this current squad I'd guess.
Tick tock.15 -

The trouble is they don’t miss him. Now the decorating is done he is surplus to requirements. We don’t want him, they don’t want him - poor bloke is in limbo.Swisdom said:

Charlton Athletic could be set for a busy few weeks in the transfer window, after manager Nathan Jones admitted that change was needed following their pre-season defeat against AFC Wimbledon.
The Addicks were beaten 2-0 by the Dons, who are managed by Charlton's former captain Johnnie Jackson, in what was their first defeat of pre-season, just a couple of weeks before their League One campaign gets underway with a trip to Wigan Athletic on August 10th.
Nathan Jones explained after the game that he is not satisfied with the state of his squad just yet, despite seven new players arriving at The Valley this summer, including the likes of Luke Berry, Matty Godden and Greg Docherty.
FFS Nathan it's just a preseason friendly, the result doesn't matter. It's all about getting games into legs & getting used to playing in the managers preferred system.
You can't just change things because of one pre season result, get a grip. Don't forget we almost beat a premier league side. Just wait until 10 games in & see where we are.

Imagine thinking a player who made 178 Premier League appearances blagged it. Does remind you that as bad as some of our signings have been under our various scouts over the years it could be a hell of a lot worse if they let the average fan loose on it23

Words of wisdom but try telling some on here that a similar situation existed with Alfie May and his exit and you will get pelters.Swisdom said:

We have just about the biggest squad in the league. About 30 players. Currently they can’t all even fit on a training pitch match. This demoralises some who are not only told they are out of the managers plans but are so far out of those plans they don’t even get a look in.Hence we need to shift a number of players before bringing any new ones in..1

He does not fit the way the team plays, he does not put in enough effort off the ball and can't run enough. He also doesn't want to be here. Would also argue the last game he "bossed" was the MK Dons game where he scored the winner at The Valley. The away game Pratley had him in his pocket.RonnieMoore said:

Almost as if we were signing absolute chaff.11 -

Not defending Scott - but when we first got Fraser he was our most creative player for the first few months. Never the fastest and was never going to run around like Dobbo, but good technically and some terrific passes (at times) and could read the game. But then he got injured and continued to play which was stupid and then he was out for (I think) around 10 weeks and hasn't been on it since then. I think combined with off field stuff, family issues then its best for him and Charlton if he moves on.The Prince-e-Paul said:

A lot of our squad are U21 and we only have two keepers.
Otherwise I think we have around 18 or 19 players.
Probably not a lot more than Jones wants, just not the type he wants.2 -
