Be good if we have another 2 or 3 in, to travel with the rest of the team.0 -

Not sure if he’s reliable…
They are still an absolute car crash of a team and club with a lunatic owner and an untested manager. They are clearly trying the Ipswich route of picking up a premier league coach and blitzing it by throwing money at it but it doesn't always work and they will be a lot of team's cup final next year.
If Alfie thinks our fans can be harsh just wait until he misses a chance up there...
May at Birmingham on the other hand will either be "just" another good player at a club with plenty to choose from (so not really a decisive factor in his own right) OR they will be a hot mess of egos and mismanagement and it will all go sideways (which would not be fun for Alfie personally I'm sure but no doubt he'd be well reimbursed for his pains.)
If he does go, Birmingham would probably be the least impactful move in terms of promotion vs not - for both us and them.3 -
Replacing mays 27 goals with cornicks 3!!!!!10
-
I’m not happy that Alfie has gone but Cornick would be a good addition to the squad, especially at this level.2
-
If May has gone then I’d be confident that we have also “done” a deal for a replacement. If we haven't then it takes the levels of incompetence on recruitment and retention up a notch even further than the Dobson fiasco.30
-
I'm more concerned about Alfies family life so even if Brum have offered more I think we should take Huddersfields lower offer so he can be closer to his wife and kids.
We can easily replace his goals and he is 47 years old.24 -

As per The Udders forum;
"Heard May will be on 11k a week at Birmingham, can’t compete with that, should have gotten the deal over the line sooner"...
Sounds like a good offer from Brum...if true...
Couldn't blame Alfie for taking the financial way out as his last big pay day contract wise I suppose...🤷♂️6 -

Gutted, but good luck to him.7

As bad as Lyle Taylor now he has engineered a move.1 -
If the 11K a week figure is true it's quite simply madness for a league one side, can't knock any player at this level for taking wages like that15

Surprisingly Vaclav Hladky has left Ipswich Town at the expiry of his Contract (Turned down a new Deal) - He played every game in goal for them last season, so cant see Christian Walton going anywhere any time soon.0

Rumours they want Carl Rushworth from Brighton but can see that being quite a drawn out deal to get done. Would rule out Walton now pretty much.3 -

One letter (then rearranged) can make quite a difference here!0 -

Pure speculation on my part but Ryan Woods has just had his contract with Hull terminated, by mutual consent...
Midfielder, worked under Jones @ Stoke (Was on loan at Exeter last season), although doesnt sound like he was ever much of a starter under Nathan.1 -

Deathly silent on the rumour front. The club have worked hard to keep everything under wraps. I know we were keen on Etete, Ahadme, Davies. We did look at Lolos formerly of Crawley but we went off him fairly quickly.
There's a trialist over from Mount Pleasant apparently but no idea who that is
And one other mystery player who has a lot of rave reviews but who is very raw at the moment. I'm sworn to secrecy on him so as not to jeopardise anything but I wouldn't think he's necessarily lined up as a starter just yet anyway.9 -

'The days of selling our best players are over'. Would any other team in this league aiming for promotion sell their best player to a promotion rival for less than £1m? We all know the answer to that question.10
-
3 year deal on £11k @ week - madness at this level, they'd best hope they go up
best of luck Alfie11 -
Can’t blame him, if those numbers are correct then he will clear a million pounds after tax over next 3 years. Don’t forget he has spent his whole career in the lower leagues and won’t have earned good money for most of it.31

It's hard not to be disappointed by this club. Without May last season we would be a league two club.12
