He plays primarily as a right back, but can also play at right midfielder or left back.
He is also eligible to represent Scotland.
Well, that's what Wiki says.1 -
            Bonne, what a joke!3

Only Charlton. For the first time in ages we get a performance and a night against Man U to remind us what it was we loved about the club in the first place. We discover that we have a manager who is making a good first impression. A little glimmer in the dark. And then we go sign Macauley effing Bonne. You couldn’t make it up.7

Everyone goes on about how important it is to have long term planning, and get key players signed up on long term contracts. The flip side is being lumbered with unwanted or unfit players signed up on long term contracts. The likes of Stockley, Aneke, Kirk, DJ and Lavelle.DOUCHER said:
dded to the fact that most of the players we've paid money for and brought in on longer deals, are the one's we're trying to get rid of !!!thenewbie said:
Unfortunately that's probably currently because no-one currently knows who is going to be running the show/footing the bills in the summer. Methven and Co? Sandgaard? A.N. Other?LargeAddick said:
We are building a squad of players that will be out of contract at the end of the season. By the end of the window we will probably have about eight players contracted for next season and one might be Stockley who we don’t really want. In the summer we could need another massive recruitment drive and maybe, hopefully not though, looking for a new manager. Not any long term planning going on.Richard J said:
I welcome these moves as long they don't mean any key player is leaving. Both Bonne and Kane have a six month window to earn a contract.
In squad terms I see Kane as a replacement for Egbo as Manny has a season ending injury.Adding Edun would mean that we have three fit specialised full back options plus Clare as a utility defender/ midfielder.
I would still like a couple of others so that we can build a squad ready to kick on next season.
Its not a great situation but not one the actual hands on side of scouting/recruitment are to blame for or able to change. Its purely makeshift and make-do and that's what they have to work with.

Well, that's what Wiki says.
Eden Edun and Kane, is an English pop/rock singer, musician, record producer and actor best known as a teen idol in the early 1960s.
He had a top 3 hit with the song "Forget me not", which was purportedly written for Macauley Bonne.

It was mentioned somewhere, can’t be arsed to trawl back as to where. Is it correct, who knows, BUT until the new group are in charge are they authorised to offer longer? Does TS want to be saddled with longer? Sure we will find out soon but it wouldn’t surprise me. Bonne might accept if the weekly wages were higher as he’s putting himself in the shop window for a decent summer move. All signings seem to be loans or out of contract players, Holden on six months only, Andy Scott six weeks etc so I can’t see any permanent signings beyond the end of the season.Chunes said:
Where is this coming from that Bonne is signing a six-month contract? Hard to see that happeningRichard J said:

Thought Bonne was a fluffier in front of goal and need convincing otherwise. If he signs, we need goals from him because we don't score anywhere near enough from the chances we create.0

Seems strange to me that Bonne would want to get released from a (not bad contract) to then sign up for just a 6 month deal.
Not particularly savvy is it ?2 -

I think the six month contract rumour came from Peter O’Rourke (Sky reporter) saying it was a six month deal.Chunes said:

Gillingham apparently after Lapslie from Mansfield as well. It’ll be an Addicks reunion down in Medway.9

Oh no! Not Bonne please.. Everyone will go on about the goals he scored.. He should have had 25 goals, the amount of great chances he had. Still believe if he had put away a couple of those we would have stayed up, and might be a different story now!
But lets get realistic - unless we are paying to wages, this is the pond we are fishing in!

Bonne was good before Christmas in the championship. He fizzled out just like everyone else that season .DubaiCAFC said:Oh no! Not Bonne please.. Everyone will go on about the goals he scored.. Todd Kane will be a good signing, he is a good age, played most of his career in the championship. They are the type of signings we need to be making.4

Wouldn't say he was good, scored a few miss hits, and a decent strike against Derby. Wouldn't say he was good.. More the fact he had some good players around him, putting them on a plate for himwmcf123 said:

On 31 January 2018, Kane joined Oxford United on loan for the remainder of the season.[36][37] On 3 February 2018, Kane made his debut in a 3–2 win over Charlton Athletic where Kane also scored the equaliser to make it 2–2 in the 89th minute.[38] On 28 April 2018, Kane scored the winning penalty to ensure Oxford United's place in League One the following season with

My recollection is that Bonne scored all types of goals, albeit I accept in a small window. All strikers miss chances of course but scoring all types of goals is the sign of a good striker in my opinion.DubaiCAFC said:

Bottom line is he looks like he is coming whether we like it or not and he is certainly more likely to be a success if we get behind him than give him stick. He hasn't played much either so we might have to be patient with him too.7 -
Bonne until the end of the season probably OK. On a longer contract is a statement of what to expect in the summer window. Mid table League 1 at best.3

It seems like every player we've signed in the last few years states he has "unfinished business" in his first press conference0

Funny how people are saying to ‘get over’ the fact Bonne laughed/mocked the club twice. Personally, I have more self respect than to cheer and be happy we are signing a player who has disrespected Charlton, his gobby bird and mum also did the same.

I’ve been very anti-Bonne since we first signed him but if he becomes an Addick again will get behind him. He is more of a poacher than we have in the squad but historically starts the season well and fades after Christmas - hopefully he’s fresh from doing fuck all since August12

Second half of the season we were relying on a player fresh out of non League and team that had had its heart ripped out with injuries and Gallagher taken to Swansea.wmcf123 said:

Cawley has suggested this, and since said he didn’t get on with qpr3 -

We are a mid table league one team. Who else are we going to sign!12

How would Bonne work in our formation?
Kind of getting used to having Leaburn up top with JRS and CBT either side. Bonne will play centrally so where does Leaburn play? Does he get dropped or is the plan to just rotate them?0 -
Decided to have a look a the goals he scored for Ipswich last season:

Theres actually some real top finishes in there. However he is also capable of this:

Let’s hope he is on one of his hot streaks when we sign him, because clearly he can be an asset.1 -
We're an average league one club (as it stands) signing an average league one player.I don't rate him at all, but at least you know he'll probably chip in a couple of goals.2
