i don't know what it is that bonne is supposed to have said to offend us and if its just that leonardo di caprio glass raising thing then people need to get over themselves - bonne had an eye for goal, had some mobility and some size but was raw - 3 years further league experience and i would see his signing as being decent - in fact it would double our current strikeforce options from 1 to 2 - stockley is knackered and can't play as a lone striker, chucks has to be treated as a bonus if he plays and nothing else and kanu doesn't look ready yet.

As of today we have 1 right back that can play left back and 1, what ever Clare actually is, that can play right back.
Kane and Edun would give us 4 full backs (assuming Egbo is out for most of the season), that isn't to much to ask is it?
If we had started the season with those full back options, the Ness and Leaburn of now and Bonne, we would be much nearer the play offs than relegation, so much so it might have been worth a punt on the 1 or 2 that would make a difference.

Bonne wouldn't keep us up in the championship no. But he definitely keeps us up in league one, which whilst it's not what we want, it might be exactly what we need until we have acceptable financial and commercial backing.

I take your point but to get to mid table Championship we need to get out of this league first and I would argue that Bonne improves the squad and so a step in the right direction.
I wouldn't take taylor back out of principle (actions speak louder than words and his actions damaged us to the benefit of himself) and i wouldn't want bonne if i thought he was dogshit or if he had disrespected our club - which i can't see that he has - he is more use than stockley, aneke and kanu and thats called being practical with regards to where we are currently at as a club - nobody is happy with where we currently are but until one of us finds £100m down the back of the sofa, we gotta suck it up and look to improve with what appears to be limited resources.
I welcome these moves as long they don't mean any key player is leaving.Both Bonne and Kane have a six month window to earn a contract.
In squad terms I see Kane as a replacement for Egbo as Manny has a season ending injury.Adding Edun would mean that we have three fit specialised full back options plus Clare as a utility defender/ midfielder.
I would still like a couple of others so that we can build a squad ready to kick on next season.
fair enough - bowyer saw enough in him to pay money for him and play him and qpr saw enough to pay £2m - whilst i don't think he was worth what we sold him for, he's far from useless - game of opinions of course
