What are we going to be left with
May not have been a full working day yet but Jake appears to have gone and CM appears to have been offered free. My main point was to highlight the first action by the Group appears to go against what we were told they would do.
Typical Charlton life over reaction. It's not even 5:30 on the 2nd jan, there hasn't been a working day yet! But comments like "what are we going to be left with"
I will feel happier when I see some players coming in.

Tbf whats the point risking holding on then being stuck with them at the end if they dont end up getting a move for any number of reasonsShowmetheway2gohome said:Thought we were bringing players in then getting rid of surplus.looks like bullshit again.division 4 here we come.
think people need to calm down abit we are getting rid of deadwood it will be more about who we bring in then we can decide if we moan or not7 -
Don’t joke, I think it could happen!Leuth said:If we sign Bonne it will be a great sign of Andy Scott's player-finding brilliance1 -
Yes, however will we cope without our third choice goalkeeper and a midfielder who has made three substitute appearances in the league this season? It's a full clear out!Tunwellsaddick said:Players being moved out before new players being moved in. Quite the opposite to what we were told by this new group of 4.

Andy Scott interview (6.40 mins) https://www.charltonafc.com/video/player/0_lqrva61b he says he wants to get players in and then assess which players can move out.ShootersHillGuru said:
Just wow. I think what was said was that players do not NEED to leave before we bring some in. I normally wait 5 seconds before I toot.2 -
Don’t think it takes very long to assess we need to move JFC and Mac on does it?Tunwellsaddick said:

bizarre, rumours MacG can leave and JFC has and people start moaning. Hardly going to miss either are we.21

Both JFC and McG would have left last window if there had been another 24 hoursShowmetheway2gohome said:Thought we were bringing players in then getting rid of surplus.looks like bullshit again.division 4 here we come.4 -
What's the point in holding onto to them if they're being paid to warm the bench? It'd be a different story if we were hearing we're moving on any key players before any mention of incomings, but these two clearly aren't in that group. I'm not seeing this as Scott going back on his word, it's sensible if anything.5

After reading the latest in the transfer thread. Then if what is said there is true this is cost cutting and there will be no incoming January transfers. As the club have to 0ay the rent and the players they have.0

Kirk and DJ are both names always disappointing to see on the team sheet . Any interest, let them go. Both have had their chances and overall failed miserably.15

Agreed 100% - getting rid of them will be a clear sign there is proper money involved coz i doubt we will get bugger all for them despite having paid good money for them - someone wiling to write that off would suggest someone who isn't mucking about hanging onto players who we all know aren't going to come goodMintoHumbugs said:Kirk and DJ are both names always disappointing to see on the team sheet . if albie and lavelle follow jfc and macgilvary out the door that will also be a good sign - harsh but trueDOUCHER said:

I always think there’s a player in DJ but he’s had enough chances and it’s time to move on.MintoHumbugs said:Kirk and DJ are both names always disappointing to see on the team sheet . Both have had their chances and overall failed miserably. As for Kirk, I’ll pay the taxi fare.McG, JFC are needed departures too.Stockley would be a welcome departure unfortunately, if replaced first. And I personally think it’s time for Albie to join Wimbledon, but I think that’s a bit more divided.
If we can get any money for Clare and replace him with an actual right back, that would have my support too.1 -

I wouldn't want to read toooo much into both JFC & MacGillivray leaving before others arrive, mainly due to both really not had any game time this season & probably want to move anyway.Tunwellsaddick said:Players being moved out before new players being moved in. However......I always say judge people by what the do rather that what they say, so if we do let those 2 leave and don't start bringing in the players we really need sooner rather than later then we might just well being lied to. But too early to tell atm.5 -
Happy to have Sessignon as that right back as long as we get two left backs in.JamesSeed said:

Would QPR come in for Kirk now that Critchley is there?
Another creative move might be to Rotherham in exchange for Ferguson.1 -

Is it possible that there are two incoming that they can’t announce yet, and that’s why two have left?0

Will you PLEASE stop telling me to wake up?

Like Gilbey dropped down a division to avoid moving to Lincoln.1 -
He’s played 176 minutes of football, so fortunately you’ve not had to see much of him.Showmetheway2gohome said:It is gloomy when it’s the worst team I’ve ever seen I’m sorry I don’t like watching players like mcgrandles. Blimey buddy, I agree it’s pretty terrible being a Charlton fan at the moment, but let’s at least give them a chance. To be fair, no one has even gone according to the website.Showmetheway2gohome said:It is gloomy when it’s the worst team I’ve ever seen I’m sorry I don’t like watching players like mcgrandles. All we’ve done so far is release one (soon two) players surplus to requirements. Just as they said they would.Showmetheway2gohome said:It is gloomy when it’s the worst team I’ve ever seen I’m sorry I don’t like watching players like mcgrandles.
