Adkins Out? - Match Thread

Got a horrible feeling he is not going anywhere.
If he dont go anywhere you have to wonder after sitting through that last night what TS sees to think Nigel can turn this arorund, he has lost the fans its getting toxic and we are sleep walking into league 2.
I am all for oweners not making snap sacking decsions but this will not change and cant continue. If TS does not act it raises questions as to why and concerns me.
I felt for Nigel last night, he looked beaten walking off, its no good for anywone to let this carry on.

That’s unusual because another poster who sat behind the dug out was quiet clear on Euell and Jackson’s involvement in the technical area - and it was them arguing with our players.addick1956 said:
I don't think it is a blame game, more about the obvious turmoil in our management. He is saying those around him are not supporting him.seth plum said:

Yourself.
Is he also trying to blame Jacko and Euell for not being supportive enough?
'The people you're surrounded with'?
If he means the fans, who travel in numbers to Wycombe, and Fleetwood, and Lincoln, who try hope against hope to back the team and any scant things that happen that are good, if Adkins is blaming the fans he is ridiculous.
Nigel, revisit the word 'yourself', what have you found out, and what change flows from that?
I only saw NA in the 'Technical Area' all night. Never saw Jacko or Jason. Much like Lincoln really until the end when Euell and he were consulting.0 -
Dismayed Adkins is still in post and what that says about our owner.1

I dont pretend to be an expert but all season it has looked like our opposition have more players on the field. We are out numbered in all areas of the pitch all the time. As I keep saying whoever is insisting that our defence sits narrow and allows space out wide needs sacking, I dont know who would be dictating this set up but if it continues we are going to keep conceding the same type of goals all season. It is just getting so frustrating now watching us do the same thing and expecting a different outcome0

Looks like Keohane to me, which tallies with information that Sandgaard listens to him. Utterly ridiculous.charlton_hero said:14 -
Just a hunch, but I think Adkins will be manager on Saturday.0

Accurate, but for me it's that we're going to finish somewhere bottom half and that could include relegation. All depends on where the actual issue is.JustFloydRoad said:

Never mind Adkins, Burger Boy shouldn’t still be at the club, sex and travel is advice no one should be in doubt about 😏.Cafc43v3r said:

Only Charlton could attract a multi-millionaire owner and then have him take advice on how to run the club from the fucking food and beverage manager.Airman Brown said:

Is there anyway I can edit this title to add "Please" or Now!!" to it?1

He's a 7 a side Footy Addicts player. The kind who turns up at Archbishop's Park on a Sunday afternoon and absolutely murders everyone by seemingly having more time and space than everyone else and infinitely more control of the ball, and then after the game you find out from someone else he 'had trials'. Despite that you know that if he actually got asked to play in a real football league he'd get murdered. I've completely lost faith in his ability to play in anything above youth level, he just doesn't know what to do on a football pitch, and the odd brilliant pass isn't going to offset thatLeuth said:

I agree it looks like Keohane.
Maybe Keohane is negotiating an even bigger eff off club car for his commute from Winchmore Hill.
I have met and talked to Keohane and felt that his general ignorance knows no boundaries.
If it is Keohane that has Sandgaard’s ear then we really are deeper in the mire than anybody can imagine.7 -
Mate, not even a chance for sleep over here (until shortly) it’s been a very long day for me. It took every last ounce of self discipline not to have a go at some of my lazy (non Charlton supporting) staff today. I was a powder keg. To bed to bed perchance to dream.Gribbo said:

He hasn't and I am in complete and utter disbelief that he is still here.2 -
Amazing how last night the photo of TS sitting round the table in the boardroom felt like it was happening, but this morning it just looks like a photo of them just having an informal chat.
TS having his Mrs there pretty much rules out it being a sacking or even a proper roasting as far as I'm concerned.2 -
Has anyone told Sandgaard what Keohane is like? If they haven’t, how would he know?6

I have seen him have a handful of good games in 4 seasons. 1 was the first time I had ever seen him at Donny. He will be 29 and people will still be asking the question.Garrymanilow said:

As Sandgaard was there last night to watch the whole shit show, he can be in no doubt how serious the problems are and also the strength of feeling among the supporters. If he dismisses these as teething problems, doesn't grasp something is very wrong, and heads back to the USA without doing anything then we are in far more trouble than any of us feared.1

they're probably just having a game of BezzerwizzerGribbo said:Amazing how last night the photo of TS sitting round the table in the boardroom felt like it was happening, but this morning it just looks like a photo of them just having an informal chat.

Has Adkins resigned from any of his previous jobs or does he always hold on till the bitter end for a pay off?

He left Hull if I remember rightly but it was the enough of his contract so no pay off.SantaClaus said:Has Adkins resigned from any of his previous jobs or does he always hold on till the bitter end for a pay off?0 -
I kept looking for positives in his game. Last night for the second was it, he actually did something good - had Matthews been the Right back, he came across to stop the winger cutting back onto Gunter's left, but in doing so lost his man in the middle as no one covered his man.Garrymanilow said:

That was the only decent takeaway last night...
I give up.0 -
If we were comfortable in mid table I might agree with you. But I'd argue that now isn't the time for taking a huge risk in a talented young manager.Scoham said:Do we have no imagination? There are talented young managers and coaches out there who would see the job as a step up and could improve us. There are clubs with much smaller budgets playing much better football than us.
It worked out for Taylor but not so well for Keegan at Newcastle or Dalglish at Liverpool.
We have no base to build upon, everything has turned to shit.
We need someone to come in and instantly give the whole place a massive lift.
We need someone who can galvanize the fans with the players, and the players need someone to respect and respond to.
We need round pegs in round holes, grind out some results, then start thinking about pretty football again.
IMO, Curbs is exactly what's needed at this moment in time, even if it's just until the end of the season.
Results breed confidence, confidence makes good players, very good players.
Right now, results mean that every player looks awful, even Wales most capped international!
I'm pretty sure Curbs would go 442, and blokes like Pearce and Purrington would be put straight back in the side
It might not be pretty, but neither is a relegation battle.0 -

If he does better with his own staff why haven’t they brought them in (at least some of them) as maybe what he is lacking is experienced staff members.1 -
What about the idea that Sandgaard is in the UK to meet possible candidates and will sack NA off before the weekend, once he's met them all?
