Whatever we might think about the purchase price, presumably they've agreed it with RD, and have had 6 months (or whatever) to get the financing sorted and paperwork done. If the holdup is due to them, and as a result he's having to fund losses beyond when he expected to have sold the club, it's not surprising that he's sold a player to cover them...0 -

Hats off to JJ and Solly throughout all of these last 4 and a bit years. I know Solly has had injuries and the club have always stood by him, but what he and JJ have had to put up with has been farcical

They said that they'd been inundated with messages and emails (and requests for interviews) that they couldn't answer until the sale was complete. I saw the fact they were now talking to Airman and Cawley as a sign that it was almost all over.
Have messaged my contact, but now they're dealing with Cawley and Airman I don't expect a reply, not one mentioning football anyway.3 -

I genuinely believe the deal was/possibly is still, very close. I don’t think the Aussies expected the sale of Konsa whatsoever so in turn have not been happy about it. Roland has sold a player behind their backs because he is getting impatient. This causes problems through not just business and monetary terms as things have now changed from when DD was complete, but also in terms of trust.
I definitely feel this is brinkmanship from Roland and something we could see continue with further sales and asset stripping unless this gets resolved very quickly.
I imagine the meeting today would’ve been planned to have got things sorted once and for all, for an announcement by the end of the week. However, I get the sense that it wasn’t too productive and we could have a showdown on our hands. The Aussies can’t afford to blink first as such and need to get this done as soon as, almost at any cost (within reason of course). As we all know Roland is rich enough and horrible enough to tear us apart, down to the bare bones, just to get as much money back as he can, because he doesn’t care.
I am not panicking yet and as we have seen so many times, today a perfect example, things can change very quickly. Today it took a bad turn by the looks of it, let’s hope tomorrow it is better.5 -

IF the EFL have approved the deal and the Aussies were all ready to go and about to announce the takeover, RD wouldn't suddenly sell a player to derail the process, as he's know the money would come off the price anyway and presumably would mean delays and lawyer/accountant fees as the paperwork was updated.

I've had to page back I don't know how many pages to try to figure out what this latest blather is about until I find that it's because we've sold Konsa.

Quite apart from the fact that Konsa has wanted out for months, I said quite some time ago that RD would get his money back and that it wouldn't matter if:
you didn't buy season tickets
didn't turn up to games
turned up to game but didn't buy any chips or
didn't buy anything in the shop.
The only thing any of that that would ensure is that people at the club would lose their jobs and he would strip more assets to get his money back.
The well organised and choreographed protests and turning up to his town to embarrass him were more than enough to see off his planet-sized ego and did the job, I'm sure. The odd idiot intimidating other fans because they wouldn't walk out of a game was totally counter-productive. The money though, was always a zero sum game.
I've no doubt that part of whatever deal he has agreed includes the proviso that he doesn't underwrite any ongoing losses from some expected completion date, unless the delay wasn't down to him - he'd have been mad not to - and they would have signed expecting that it wouldn't have taken this long to close.
So, hopefully everyone can all calm down now and look forward to a new, better era. I hope. I really hope.

I reckon AFKA summary is about right and would also not be surprised if we are now in a period of brinkmanship;
Aussies must surely be thinking, “RD wants out, does not want to put a penny more in, there is no income from the club and no one else looking to buy” so given we are all but done we will chip the price - gazundering - and, to an extent, why not as a lower price will allow more funds for squad investment I would hope.
However they may not have reckoned with RD, a billionaire who may just be mad enough to spite himself by “calling them”, demanding the price is maintained, telling them he will sell players/cut staff to cover costs and therefore not need to put any money in.
Trouble with that RD is that there is fuck all players of value left to sell and if he sells the last few and the Aussies step away he is fecked as we go down and then he would have to likely give the club away for nowt.

We are doing the fit and proper yet no deal has been done (it would seem ) so surely the delay is on the buyers side not the sellers
There’s no evidence in the public domain to suggest this delay is caused by RD0
