Still not done deal but maybe imminent (now) not your finest hr of news worthy leaks

I am unsure if @AFKABartram will allow another member but I think @JamesSeed would fit the age demographic you are in and will tick the boxes for Human Resources with regards diversity within the new age order

Too busy arguing, or not posted by an ITK from the clique, oh well...

If it was announced this afternoon.. who would be declared RIGHT?

Airman would say, ‘well it’s been happening all this time’, and NLA would say ‘it wasn’t happening and they must have just sorted it now’.

Ultimately who cares? It’s all the same thing.

Jesus, everybody, do some of you think that Muir et al turned up wearing scarves, ties, etc. at the play off games, just to wind up supporters? Not a great way to heal rifts, is it?

Now, every time anyone on here, mentions something they've heard, or even something they've made up, there is another spate of expecting Airman to have the answers, and a collective wailing and rending of garments...

Now, I am in no way ITK, but it is going to happen, in its own time, and subject to certain vagaries of bureaucracy grinding exceeding slowly.

Can't everybody just take a (strong) chill pill, and relax? It'll all turn up right in the end...

    Pretty much spot on IMO.

Have to laugh at people crediting Doucher and NLA with bringing information here - IIRC neither have ever brought anything to the table, just denied what other people were saying. That’s rather easier than actually digging out what is happening. It’s the difference between running down and up hill.
Surely as they called ir right, they were the one's who'd dug out what was really happening.

It's the difference between being right or wrong, not any hill.
At no point have either Doucher or NLA said the Aussies would buy the club. At no point have they disclosed any of the names involved or detail of the actual deal. They have posted a number of red herrings about due diligence and ex-directors’ loans and the Aussies not having the money.

It’s not about who’s in the know or otherwise, but the sum total of their contribution has been “not yet”. Fair enough, you can argue they have been more accurate than Murray on that, but without the detail of what it is, what does it amount to?

So you're saying it's DEFINITELY happening this afternoon?

    We’ve got em worried lads....

Hell have no fury like an ITK scorned with a fanzine to sell

Maybe next time you write imminent AB or Done Deal you’ll research your source and facts

But hey it sold you a few and made you a few quid and those that wait on your every word will still do so

If you flip the coin over to what you just posted

It’s not easier to post it’s not happening when you and others were pissing your pants you’d had a snippet that made you still seem to have a relevant source of knowledge

In fact two lone voices saying wait it’s not close no fee has been agreed and even up to the weekend you posted done deal I knew of two parties who were meeting those involved selling the club for the first time

Don’t worry you will soon be in the Guiness book of records for the longest imminent done deal ever

Come on NLA, you are better than that, don't go down the route of blaming the Fanzine seller, leave that sort of thing for nut jobs elsewhere.
Agreed it was a cheap dig

Seems like the Charlton Life Takeover Thread meta has shifted from fish puns to all out open warfare.

That Aussie takeover Is not gonna happen today.
There! I've stuck my neck out and said it.
Now I reckon, I'm going to be right more times than I'm wrong. I will be wrong one day and I hope its soon. But I will be right more often than I'm wrong between now and the end of days.
    No doubt someone will argue.

The simple truth of the matter is that NLA's info and mine come from the sellers side - that side is in control although I would say my info comes from the inner sanctum and hence why I have always said it will happen this summer - I'm not responsible for the false dawns, just tried to pass on what I know - I've also passed on lots of other info to this message board which has also proven to be correct - we all want rd gone and he's going but if this last few years have proved anything, it's that the perceived oracles on here don't always get it right but others sometimes do

The problem is Doucher you constantly ‘re-spin’ what you said in the past to fit the reality of the present and then claim to have provided consistently accurate information from the ‘inner sanctum’ of the club.

This was your first comment on this thread:

I'm reliably informed that there is nothing happening and its been a non story from the start.

Which when questioned you qualified as:

Fair enough but for me to be told what I've been told would suggest that if something was happening, it's not now.

My source says its a non story and isn't happening and that source would know…I don't know but my view is that RD does want out and has done since relegation / the change in strategy 18 months ago and if I was a betting man I'd say he will sell in the summer whether we go up or not with the up or not being the last part of the deal affecting the price.

@DOUCHER out of interest mate, what exactly was it that your source said 'isn't true' ?

Rumours RD is prepared to sell / the club is up for sale? That there is buying interest? DD process being undertaken / has concluded? Post-DD negotiation is taking place?

What isn't true ? My reading of when you posted this was a generic 'there's nothing happening and all these rumours are a load of bull', which may well be the case, but I'm interested in being clear whether that was what your source was saying. Cheers

My source has told a family member of mine…..I think the words were 'it's a non story and nothing is happening'.

So that what you now present as consistent information ‘from the inner sanctum’ of the club would seem, from the highlighted comments above, to have been speculations on your part rather than direct information from your (secondhand) ‘source’ - for which you might claim to be a reasonably astute pundit but not a provider of consistently reliable ‘inside’ information.

Too many ego's wanting the scoop. If every day you say the takeover is happening today then inevitably you are going to get it right.

Not one person on here has a clue when it's going to happen.

    FACTOID!

All the way through I have said I don’t want people to get false hopes or believe we are about to be put out of our misery as it was not true at the time when some were truly believing it’s was days or weeks away

You show your dogs more attention than me. Letting them sit at the table, while I get a dog bowl. Thanks for nothing.

Anyway you can’t be my Dad - he wouldn’t dress like something out of Carry on Camping.

We seem to be going a bit Jeremy Kyle on here

NLA and Airman will need to be separated by some bouncers soon as they charge on to the stage towards each other...

Whilst we're going to need a DNA test to confirm whether TCE is Otto's father

We have been adrift in a sea of despair for what seems like an eternity and in the past few months have had people throwing in life belts and life rafts in an attempt to keep us buoyant whilst we wait for the gleaming cruise ship to appear on the horizon to pull us in, dry us down and go full steam ahead to a happier place.

Now admittedly we have some people who claim to have bigger rafts than others and equally some of the belts have been caught in the wind and missed the target and some have been no more than seaside rubber rings which were as welcome as industrial strength shark bait.

But as one of the many thousands bobbing along, waiting to be rescued, I am grateful of any attempt to drag me out of these murky depths, even if at times the rope has been too short or what appeared to be Captain Dowman sailing towards me, turned out to be Captain Birds Eye!

(come on, it's got to be better than all of those house selling analogy's surely?)

Davey my man, can we have one of Jacko running over to the Charlton fans after scoring at Norwich?

A consistent factor is Henry with WIOTOS (although the Charles-Cook saga is a bit iffy there), and another consistent and increasingly admirable factor is the attitude of ROT and some others, who have rightly turned mistrust and scepticism into an art form and a genuine force.
Roland is best utterly resisted and counteracted within our ability to do so, the reported interview or conversation proves that all over again.
Whoever is right of wrong, and the motivation of ALL the information givers seems to come from a wellspring of care about the club, whoever is right the most admirable are the steadfast activists.
Some including Roland say the CAFC resistance movement has done harm to the club, I say without the resistance from so many of us we would be simply hanging around like cargo cultists waiting on the whim of the madman across the water.
We have the experience now, we can raise money, we are inventive, we have a wide collection of skills and we may well need to re arm to be able to continue pissing vinegar over Roland's 14 chips.
