I don't want to give this mob the benefit of the doubt but it could well be what we got up front and there's going to be more coming in from clauses etc..se9addick said:Who was it that was assuring us that we'd got far more for Joe Gomez ?

See page 25 of the accounts. States that £6.24million possibly due from player sales based on future appearances etc. Is this all Gomez??1

I'd imagine Poyet has some substantial add on's too. Not that they'll ever be realised mind.HardyAddick said:See page 25 of the accounts. States that £6.24million possibly due from player sales based on future appearances etc. Is this all Gomez??

We haven't "got" it then. The correct transfer fee is therefore the £3.5m that was reported at the time. Whether we get another couple of mil if Joe Gomez one day walks on the moon or whatever is inconsequential and it's mis-leading for people to suggest otherwise.Marriott110 said:

The operative word being POSSIBLY.HardyAddick said:See page 25 of the accounts. States that £6.24million possibly due from player sales based on future appearances etc. Is this all Gomez??
No use to us until we have it.
Let's hope to God it doesn't happen to Joe but cruciates can and have finished careers or severely impaired players from what they were so no guarantees even if that possible future revenue is theoretically him.0 -
The 'deal' is worth more than the 3.5 mill first payment.

No it isn't. The deal is "worth" whatever we end up getting, right now it's probably £3.5m. Might be more on the future, might not be, but right now it's £3.5m.sirjohnhumphrey said:The 'deal' is worth more than the 3.5 mill first payment.

Unless we've received more based on his appearances for Liverpool since then.se9addick said:

What if it's a guaranteed fee in the next few seasons? Hardly any transfers are lump sum these days.se9addick said:

Could have been a fee after his first apperance.se9addick said:

In that case it would have to be included in the stated profit now. If it's guaranteed it's not material to the declared profit when it's paid.SELR_addicks said:

Possibly - there's a "Post Balance Sheet Event" of £299,500 related to the disposal of players' registrations which could be Gomez's debut.Scoham said:

We've spent £2.5m since then on new players !0 -

It's shown as a 'contingent' receipt. In simple terms if this happens and that happens then we could get this money.
If it doesn't though we won't.

More importantly, does anybody know how much we paid for Francis Jeffers?0

If you think that's funny you should the whole thing (and then you'd cry, for hours).smiffyboy said:
The funniest bit of info on that screen shot is the rise in staffing costs due to the increased player wages to remain competitive, hahahaha they got that badly wrong.se9addick said:Who was it that was assuring us that we'd got far more for Joe Gomez ?

Good thing we sold him when we did, blokes a busted flush2

What a shame for him.0

Busted flush? He picked up an ACL - an injury that any player can pick up, and now a second unrelated injury.sam3110 said:Good thing we sold him when we did, blokes a busted flush

Come on it was just after 6 in the morning, after a couple of pints too many the night before - I'm entitled to be whooshed. The Red Robin said:

Achillies injury. Let's hope their medical staff are better than ours.0

Joe Gomez is the real deal and is destined for greater things but he's been unlucky to have picked up injuries at a club that seems to have had more than its fair share of late which tends to suggest that it's not the players that are injury prone but that certain practices at the club may be the cause.Swisdom said:Scouse Cory Gibbs
