Who was it that was assuring us that we'd got far more for Joe Gomez ?
I don't want to give this mob the benefit of the doubt but it could well be what we got up front and there's going to be more coming in from clauses etc..

We haven't "got" it then. The correct transfer fee is therefore the £3.5m that was reported at the time. Whether we get another couple of mil if Joe Gomez one day walks on the moon or whatever is inconsequential and it's mis-leading for people to suggest otherwise.
See page 25 of the accounts. States that £6.24million possibly due from player sales based on future appearances etc. Is this all Gomez??
The operative word being POSSIBLY.
No use to us until we have it.
Let's hope to God it doesn't happen to Joe but cruciates can and have finished careers or severely impaired players from what they were so no guarantees even if that possible future revenue is theoretically him.
The 'deal' is worth more than the 3.5 mill first payment.
No it isn't. The deal is "worth" whatever we end up getting, right now it's probably £3.5m. Might be more on the future, might not be, but right now it's £3.5m.

Unless we've received more based on his appearances for Liverpool since then.

What if it's a guaranteed fee in the next few seasons? Hardly any transfers are lump sum these days.

In that case it would have to be included in the stated profit now. If it's guaranteed it's not material to the declared profit when it's paid.

Yeah those appearance fees must be rolling in !
Could have been a fee after his first apperance.
Possibly - there's a "Post Balance Sheet Event" of £299,500 related to the disposal of players' registrations which could be Gomez's debut.

Exactly.
It's shown as a 'contingent' receipt. In simple terms if this happens and that happens then we could get this money.
Who was it that was assuring us that we'd got far more for Joe Gomez ?
The funniest bit of info on that screen shot is the rise in staffing costs due to the increased player wages to remain competitive, hahahaha they got that badly wrong.

If you think that's funny you should the whole thing (and then you'd cry, for hours).

We've spent £2.5m since then on new players !

If it doesn't though we won't.
