Don't you know? Publish your address and we'll advise further ;-)adamtheaddick said:Still cant understand why slater would not be at the valley offical do but rock up to east kent talkabout a takeover then vanish and all those there know nowt.. Is he a man in black did he pop his shades on and nuralyse you all after his speach? Gut instinct says its all cock and bull and finding the whole thing amusing i think i live in east kent but think i will give the stonecutters a swerve "who keeps the takeover underwraps...we do". ;-)

I imagine the East Kent area is like a post invasion Wars of the Worlds with Slater as one of the Tripods.
Seriously though, aren't things of any sensitivity normally kept in-house at these kind of meetings and not posted all over the internet.
Did anyone ask him what his favourite Christmas film was btw?0 -
The trust did not print it as well..... but I designed the 'flyer'/poster.nth london addick said:Mog I agree with the fact the EK guys and gals should be the ones answering
But the trust co organised it printed the posters and then posted the tit bit on their website then linked it here
To now say oh well I don't really know like mavis in the cabin is a bit odd tbh
But I suppose like many things we will never know what happened that night so in ten years hopefully the official secrets act will pass and we will find out then
I did not go, so cannot add anything that has not already been posted.

It's actually becoming amusing and frustrating in equal measure. In my view it was either not said and therefore no one can add anything or if it was said as reported then I have no idea why there should not have been some supplementary questions and answers which should also have found there way onto here or it is indeed true that the code of omertà is prevailing.0

I was at the meeting and all I will say is this, he3

Maybe those running the event, that were clearly struggling to sell all the tickets, feel as though if you want to know what goes on at these events then perhaps you should attend.
Or maybe it never happened at all. I do find it very strange that Slater (who is something of a recluse) would attend this meeting, and then 'steal the thunder' of the players that were playing in December 1992 when we were celebrating getting back to the Valley.
Either way I have to confess that, due to my complete lack of trust of anything that he says, I'm not exactly bothered if it did happen and no one tells us about it!0 -

I'm glad I chose it as the only meeting I've been to so far.1

Big thanks to JT who private messaged me what was said at the meeting.
I cant believe it. I am speechless!1 -
The Chislehurst supporters meeting was certainly interesting last night, what a great guest Tony Jiminez was.
Just want to thank the trust for publising this for us.
Roll on January when we'll have Lord Lucan talking about his days as physio down at the Valley and March when Kevin Cash will be talking about where it all went wrong.5 -
Cashy was in great form the other night I must say. Kept winding the yanks up about how they pronounce 'Greenwich'3
-
I was worried with the Germans being there as well that he would mention the war. He mentioned it once, but I think he got away with it.3

Blimey, mediaeval Europe used to think Kentish folk had tails hence we were known as Kentish long tails, but maybe Kentish no tales would be more apt?

This is such a bizarre thread.0

the takeover takeover thread?0
-
taken from Wiki:
"Known as the hemorrhoid of Kent, East Kent is renowned for its oysters, sandy beaches, 70s fairgrounds, majestic buildings, flatulence, lady boys, dogging sites and an ignorance of anything to do with complicated takeover talks. It has an uncomfortably high population of in-bred two headed mutants who while away the hours taking creatine whilst fixing boats".3 -

I know this thread has descended into madness but maybe the five year plan is still on track....if we look at it as in year=season
1st season/year - consolidate and let all contracts run out
2nd year/season - sign new squad, let them bed in (remember the players signed are signed with the view to being able to compete in the championship)
3rd year/season - promotion from league one
4th year/season - consolidate and let contracts run out
5th year/season - sign new team for premiership push
It does work in regard to all of the quotes from the club/Powell that we went up a season early
0 -
Bloody Powell getting us up a season early. I knew it was his fault, can throw Hamer in for saving too many as well which helped us towards promotion.
The Board can't have known what hit them and have done admirably to have coped so well under these unexpected circumstances.
