Ok, Let's vote on it:

A - Slater told them the whole story but swore them to secrecy in case the disclosure jeopardised the takeover, only allowing Raz to give us the showstopper headline

B - Slater got sick of being asked and blurted out "there is no feckin takeover, I'm a c**t" as he dashed out of the door in tears. Misheard and reported by Raz as "I'm-in-nent"

C- No such thing was said, Slater wasn't even there and this is either an elaborate wind-up or a ruse to get more of us along to the next EK event

D - SOMETHING was said by Slater but the EK guys and girls were all too rat-arsed to remember anything about it.

My money's on D.

But the trust co organised it printed the posters and then posted the tit bit on their website then linked it here

To now say oh well I don't really know like mavis in the cabin is a bit odd tbh

But I suppose like many things we will never know what happened that night so in ten years hopefully the official secrets act will pass and we will find out then

I think it's great you passed it on but I think it should have been posted on the EK dinner thread in a personal capacity with a request for more info from people that were there, rather than on the Trust website with a link on Twitter etc.

I refuse to believe that people that were there genuinely were told that one line and that was all that was mentioned or discussed. In fact, I suppose it's possible that Slater said that single line and then said he couldn't comment any further, but if that was the case why isn't anyone reporting that? It stinks. That's not a knock at you or the trust but at the way this has been leaked to you followed by a wall of silence from those present who must surely be aware of this thread.

Don't count me on that one. I couldn't go, but if I had I would have posted something as I have done in the past. I don't like secrecy and hush hush, never have and never will. We are supposed to be the Charlton family, AFKA and Lookie typify what I think is the inclusive approach. I hope that East Kent have got a pretty sound reason for not posting anything on CL as it was quite happy to promote its events for free on here. If there isn't a good reason then I have no wish whatever to attend any of its future events.

Still cant understand why slater would not be at the valley offical do but rock up to east kent talkabout a takeover then vanish and all those there know nowt.. Is he a man in black did he pop his shades on and nuralyse you all after his speach? Gut instinct says its all cock and bull and finding the whole thing amusing i think i live in east kent but think i will give the stonecutters a swerve "who keeps the takeover underwraps...we do". ;-)
