A question on palace and millwall.

We had just been beaten 4-0 by them, who would want to think about going straight back at that point?
We will fill our allocation, guaranteed. And in the extremely unlikely scenario that we don't, then we should be bloody ashamed.0 -
It's nothing season for us IMO, mid table nothingness back at our natural level. There are only 4 games which mean anything. The last time we went there we were hulmilated with a shit team, times have now changed and we want to avenge that defeat. There's no way it can be a nothing game.0

yeah right, so they keep saying - over and over and over and over and over again!Sparrows Lane Lion said:
You are Palace's 3rd rival though so you are insignificant compared to Brighton & us in their eyes.Bexley Dan said:It's probably a bit of reverse psychology from Arsenal fans to try and wind up Spurs - a bit like palace fans who make out we are insignificant to them yet you know there is nobody they would sooner beat.

I dunno, everyone seems to say the Palace/Brighton games are a lot more heated on & off the pitch compared to your games, it seems to make the blood boil a little hotter for both teams than the palace/charlton rivalry.Bexley Dan said:

The problem is, Charlton get on with people but haven't got a mutual best friend to play with. You invite us & Palace to your house to play, but we don't invite you unless our real mates are busy.

"Everyone" only says that because that's what the Palace fans want people to believe. They get their kick out of playing down the Charlton rivalry as they think by doing that we will get angry.Sparrows Lane Lion said:

It may be a semi-rivalry to them, but then again we didn't try putting their club out of business.0 -
We're quite happy to play with ourselves Sparrow! Millwall round is like having the shifty little bleeder round who you had to check your toys after they left.
And Palace? They're like the kid who your mum invites round cos she feels sorry for him. You know the type, supermarket trainers, older brothers hand me down jumper complete with snot stains from his constantly running nose, faint aroma of piss and cabbage. The kind of kid who made your skin crawl but couldn't muster the true animosity to batter.0 -
Bloke I know was telling me that the Gills main rivals are Swindon (3rd in the survey though).redcarter said:I don't think Gillingham had us as a rival on the last one of those surveys

Whatever. Not that fussed - it's great to be liked - nobody wants to be that strange / dangerous depressive violent kid who everybody avoids and turns out to have mental issues when he's older. Not sure who this 'everyone' is but they 'protest to much' - we know they hate us or they wouldn't go to such lengths to try and convince us otherwise.Sparrows Lane Lion said:

Annoyingly Ohharrh will be on soon telling that dull story about milllwall fan climbing over walls the last time they came here.nolly said:In fine windup mode today sparrows lol

Not at all mate....it seems some Charlton fans are desperate to feel more hated by Palace just to try & appease the shame they feel by getting so het up about them when Palace don't feel quite the same way.nolly said:In fine windup mode today sparrows lol
It must be hard; all this hatred for Palace & Millwall, only to find out you're their bit on the side....0 -
It's hard to cope to be honest pal0
-
Put the rod away Sparrows. When was the last time they ambushed a train full of Brighton fans?0
-
What I find interesting is how spotty sparrows is putting the bait out there looking for a bite, when he has spent an entire year constantly checking and posting on here.
Bit desperate would you not agree big boy?

Anyway,
all spotty millwall fans to one side, it always makes me laugh how palarse and millwall fans are forever using the old 'oh we don't even care for charlton'.
I mean, is that all they have in their locker, really?!
CAFC are the most coveted club from s.London and deep down we all know that, history, attendances, potential & the work the club partakes in off the pitch will show you that. I guess it's a defensive mechanism for them both, they know the facts, they can only shelter themselves from reasoning with the truth because the majoirty of these clubs supporters refuse to accept who is the pride of this part of London.

Almost as strange as thinking we want people to hate us. It's more about laughing at those who feign indifference - so much.0

Have you got your ticket BTW boss?0 -
No rod. Thought it kicked off massively outside Selhurst last year after the Brighton game? And also down at Brighton with Brighton attacking the Palace escort down the high street.Friend Or Defoe said:Put the rod away Sparrows. When was the last time they ambushed a train full of Brighton fans?

It's not indifference is it. You're their 3rd rival. That's not indifference. You're above 88 other clubs.Bexley Dan said:Almost as strange as thinking we want people to hate us. It's more about laughing at those who feign indifference - so much.

I disagree sparrows I think they loathe us . Quite creepy there fixation with us I personally feel nowhere the hate for them the few palace I know have for charlton . To be honest anyone that has filled in questionnaire about who they hate more is either under sixteen or a bit strange . Matters not what millwall think of us I detest them even my millwall friends0
-
dont give a shit if they like or loathe us. I hate both with a burning passion.0

Just read the survey - interesting stuff.. Arsenal and Man U?... they hate us and it is laughable the lengths they go to to deny it.Sparrows Lane Lion said:

Charlton away is somewhere for the Millwall youngsters to cut thier teeth. The older hands are not interested at all. They see themselves as big fish in the hoolie world and prefer to have West Ham as thier main rival.
Palace. Don't like us at all, but won't admit it. They prefer Brighton as rivals 'cos they can take the liberties with them that they can't and never have been able to with us.0 -
