At one point NJ was punching himself in the head!!
There should be a canon Jonescall game as @Braziliance pointed out recently he is entertainment in himself.  When we concede I often look to him and his reaction is only slightly short of self emoliation
  • Comfortable and most importantly CONFIDENT performance from the lads. We've got a big test on Saturday up at Blackpool (i always worry when we play a northern sh*house team with a experienced manager) but if we can not lose that and win the following two home games that's promotion form. Curbs always used to say win your home games and try and get whatever you can away from home and you'll be alright. In our position we need to win some away games but I'd happily take a point at Blackpool

I don't normally like to nitpick on spelling, but this one gave me the giggles. I presume you meant self-immolation (ie setting himself on fire), but while I'm not sure emoliation is actually a word, if it is then it's almost certainly related to emolliate, which means to soften. My Nan used to have to use emolliant cream to help treat her psoriasis, so now I'm picturing Nathan slathering himself in heavy duty moisturiser in response to us conceding a goal, which while not as extreme a reaction as setting himself on fire, is still pretty weird.
Nope he definitely gets loads of hives when the opposition score and needs to moisturise quickly!

OK it was late and I knew it was wrong but not quite as wrong.

Glad it gave you a giggle, but could you give it a LOL then  :D
  • Biggest downside for me was the fact there was no Chicken George last night, raging. It was also a reminder of just how awful the food is inside the ground
  • I apologise for the poor second half, I was at a house fire and unable to follow/access the score from just after halftime.  So all my fault.

2 things I observed from the west stand tonight..... That was a very, very comfortable win, and Nathan Jones is a fukin lunatic.

    Up the addicks!!!
He is absolutely crazy, never seen such an animated manager in all my life.

Excellent from start to finish, with it being more "professional job done" latter in the second half and so a nice comfy 2-0 home win.

Where Saturday was more slow and ponderous in possession last night was the opposite with us moving the ball with a lot more purpose, as evident by the amount of genuine and half chances Godden had alone. As players, dont think there was a single poor performance out there, the closest probably being Chuks towards the end with a couple of selfish moments, but nothing to write home about at all.

Rovers, came to play ( and by that I man not shut up shop and pump it long to a lone frontman) and we had 1 or 2 moments when you thought they might sneak back into the game, but, one real decent effort aside that AMB kept alert for, nah, nothing. On another day they may have caused us some real problems but we put in a whole team effort and are riding a high.

    Some special mentions for

Gillesphey - There was a point in the second half where he was just so comfortable it was genuinely like a new signing.

Berry - *OVERLY DRAMATIC EDGY HATE COMMENT* , the type of player that isnt always going to look involved, thats what you get with them, but pressed well, forced a really good save and (I think need to check the highlights) held off a Rovers player keeping the space open for Edwards' shot, tired but thats a given.

Godden - Proper 100% natural striker. Finds space and can fashion a chance out of nothing. Not just a tidy finish but his link play was really good! not the typical big lump in the air target man but where Ahadme and Leaburn have failed to win it in the air and hold the ball up -  Godden was cushioning the ball with his chest and letting it drop to flick into channels and behind. F*ck it, just start him as much as possible.

Ramsay - Hes back and straight into tackle mode. Class.

  • That was an enjoyable game to watch. Maybe we should of had more goals but another clean sheet and it was a game we dominated so no complaints from me.  Great to see a goal from outside of the area, don't often see them.

More importantly, Super Ally McCoist was in the West Stand / Directors Box as a spectator last night, anyone catch a wee word with the great man?

How could I forget about this guy lol
  • Good: made a lot of chances.

Bad: missed a lot of chances.

    Good: defence did well.

Bad: midfield still too easy to get through meaning the defence had to do well.
  • Who was it that said Nathan Jones teams tend to start a season slow and then come on strong after Christmas?

Give them a gold star. They called it.

Hopefully this doesn’t fizzle out. But the momentum we have built should frighten teams. Genuinely believe we could go to St. Andrews and pull out a one nil win at the moment.
Not to blow my own horn but I said something similar to that. Luton were 17th at Christmas the year he took them up from league one I believe.

can I have my gold star?
    No pictures, please.
  • Griffiths is on loan from West Brom, out of contract in the summer. Plenty of League One experience out on loan, definitely seen him play before and was impressed then too. Only 23. Definitely worth us keeping a closer watch on in my opinion.

He has a contract until 2027.
  • A perhaps enforced change which saw NJ try out Small on the right weeks ago now appears to have provided the balance we had been missing in the side and everything has clicked since then. Momentum is building game by game, we were in complete control last night and I now have a stronger belief that this new found momentum is going to take us all the way into the play offs.

The lads are doing great, as are the coaches and appear to be taking it game by game.

I hope NJ gets a massage once or twice a week. I certainly feel like I need one after watching his emotionally driven stress go through the roof for 70 minutes of a game. I genuinely mean this when I say that I hope the club provide him with the right level of support to deal with what he goes through every game. If I saw any of my staff take his behaviour type into our day to day work I would be asking them if they were ok and required support after all.

    I think that’s a bit harsh.

The midfield certainly were in the first 10 minutes, and there was a massive space between them and our defence.

But after that they adjusted and although Bristol moved the ball well the midfield were very much involved in essentially reducing them to no chances.

That was such a relaxed and comfortable game that the North Stand decided to start singing songs I haven’t heard in years
    North Stand?

    Where's that? 🤔

    Opposite the South Stand.....
Come on, Golfie.... You know better than that! 🫣
