This match was over in the first half. Bristol Rovers, who’ve had the best of us for a little while now, started well but soon fizzled once the in-from Addicks found their feet. Charlton opened the scoring through Matty Godden on thirteen minutes. Godden poked the ball past the Rovers keeper from close distance through Tyreece Campbell.
Thierry Small continued his fine run of form, beating his man, whoever they threw at him, consistently and putting in crosses and shots almost at will. It was his counterpart on the left, Josh Edwards scored Charlton’s second on thirty-nine minutes when he found himself at the edge of the left hand side of the Bristol box, dropped the shoulder to shoot with his favoured left, then moved to unleash a beautiful, well-placed rocket with is right that found the back of the net. Charlton were comfortably in control from then on out.
Three or four good chances in the second half could have seen a rout but still the two goal advantage was more than enough to come away with the three points and another clean sheet. Rovers had much more of their share of the possession in the second half but Charlton remained largely untroubled nonetheless.
Up the table we go.

Top 6 here we come...
Give them a gold star. They called it.
Hopefully this doesn’t fizzle out. But the momentum we have built should frighten teams. Genuinely believe we could go to St. Andrews and pull out a one nil win at the moment.
Ramsay very impressive tonight. Small looking very dangerous.
Got the job done in the First Half, should by all accounts have made it even more comfortable
But instead the second half was just solid, and did all that was required
Plenty of Football still to be played this season, and three points is three points regardless of the winning margin.
Was good to see the players just tone it down a Gear, even when we could have made it about 5-0 early in the second half, as there is no point wasting energy, what with another 19-games still to be played - Said on the Match Thread but would like the scouting team to take a look at Griffiths (their Goalkeeper) between now and the summer... One game isn't enough to sign a player, but he looked very decent in goal this evening, he was the sole reason the scoreline wasnt higher.
can I have my gold star?

2nd half too many players looked knackered - subs were the right ones but could have come a bit earlier.
Comfortable win and first half one of the best in ages.
The much maligned Gillesphey and Berry were outstanding in the first half, as was Matty Godden. Godden and Berry tired in the second half, understandably. Probably Gillesphey's best game for us, solid and I can't remember a single mistake.
Small and Campbell were great going forward and Docherty and Edwards were quality.
Special shout out to Ramsay. First start in months, in an unfamiliar position and a genuine mom contender. His anticipation and handling of 1 on 1s is Wan Bissaka-esque.
So happy to go home after a convincing win. Play-offs really looking possible now.
We don't put teams to bed & had too many draws when an extra goal here & there would now have us comfortably in the play offs.
We have only once this season scored more than twice in a game....the 5-0 thrashing at Northampton. Today would have been the ideal time to have got 3 or 4.
Yes....I'm a sour puss. I'm a negative Nancy. Just dont want us losing out on 6th place on GD.
Good performances from Ramsey , Edwards and Docherty. It's going to be a struggle for Mitchell to get back in the side. I expect Leaburn to start at Blackpool though.
Up the addicks!!!
Ramsey had a great game and was my MOTM. Followed closely behind by Small & Edwards. Godden had a good first 45 & showed what a finisher can do.
Some big games coming up next month. Lets see where we are in early March. Hopefully still there or thereabouts.
