Bloody brilliant stuff! I'm so pleased that even if we lose on Saturday the next two home games give us a realistic chance of getting into the top 6. Finally, some excitement at The Valley. Well done to the manager, the team and supporters - heaven knows that all you loyal fans deserve it! I'll be back with you very soon.,,🙂 Up the Addicks💪👆
Enjoyable evening made better by having an experienced striker Matty Godden start the game, I don't know how to explain it but he just shows football experience.
Yes absolutely. And he has barely been on the pitch for the last few weeks. No rust at all!
Second match in a row against weaker L1 teams where I came away impressed with the keeper. Blackman at Shrews looked very good and I thought Griffiths tonight looked excellent and had decent distribution. Big lads both of them.
Personally thought they were both brilliant at picking the ball out of their own net as well!
Griffiths is on loan from West Brom, out of contract in the summer. Plenty of League One experience out on loan, definitely seen him play before and was impressed then too. Only 23. Definitely worth us keeping a closer watch on in my opinion.

Thought he looked very good on the ball, some really good passes
Godden was very impressive in the first half - a lot more to his game than i realised and looks very sharp considering he's not played much. Ramsay was class and Edwards is getting sharper and better every week. Nobody had a bad game. We're starting to look like a good side and with the right couple of signings, we'll start to look like a promotion side. Got some pivotal games coming up and we're coming into form at the right time for them. I'm starting to believe we can do this. COYR!!
Easy tonight some very good performances but Chucks looked awful.
It wasn’t his best performance (I think he’s at his best when he’s fired up and we’re one nil down), but he still set up a couple of chances, including putting Kanu (I think?) through for a one on one.
Also, Edwards is clearly very well liked by the other players, judging by their reaction when he scored, and at the end of the match!
Best bit of the night was when they brought on a new left back at half time to deal with Small and within 5 minutes Thierry had already burned past him despite giving up a 2 yard head start. He was unlucky not to get a second goal tonight. There's not a full back in the division who can live with him running at them when he is in this kind of form and mood.
A for the game itself, we could of, should of, added a couple more goals. Their keeper had a very good game. As for our defence, we snuff out so many potential threats around our 18 yard box.
Other observations, Thierry small is quite the player, such quick feet as well as pace. I can see why he's been coveted by big clubs, I just hope he chooses to settle with us for a couple more seasons. The weakest link for me tonight was docherty, I didn't feel he did enough to warrant a captain's performance.
All in all, very solid, if unspectacular win. I fly home happy to see 2 wins.
I saw that Jones banging his head episode from a sparsely occupied Upper West Stand, K block, and laughed out so loudly that three people, three rows down, turned round simultaneously to give me a queer look. We are a plump phoenix rising from the ashes of a middle table finish winging its way to a stopover for the play-offs before casting a beady eye at the promised land of promotion... I said in the Pre-Match Thread that Godden should start ahead of Leaburn, and his intuitive quicksilver movement across a few feet of the box guaranteed him a simple finish - he is the cleverest striker we have and must start again. And again... Well played all of you lovely, occasionally frustrating men.
Gradually changing my opinion on Jones and bar Rotherham, we seem to be getting our act together. Not always easy on the eye but its points that matter. How refreshing to have a decent ref for a change, best in a long, long time.
People mentioning the possession stats, but they're heavily skewed by the second half when we really went down a couple of gears, and allowed Bristol long spells with the ball (that they did nothing with). The first half we absolutely battered them and really should have won by more.
Josh Edwards takes me back to the time when English managers looked to Scotland for a player who'd add some bite to the defence - usually for a bargain basement price.
I've never seen him bottle a tackle or a challenge. Good on him!
As Lennie Lawrence used to say, you've got to have a couple of Scotsmen in the team.

Jones was right to sell May as we only spent 800k on top of his transfer fee. Hmmmm....
Username suggests he/she was born whilst we were at Sainsburys and needs educating.
I mean, we are fighting relegation, right?
It says more about us as fans and our experience of thrown away leads that we worried much more than was warrented.
In reality, for all their possesion Rovers hardly laid a glove on us.
AMB had one save to make.
The only gripe is it could/should have been more then two.
Shame so few were there to see it live but welcome to the "all games on Sky world even on a wet Tuesday night in January new world"
Josh Edwards MOTM but Camp ell and Docherty were very good again.
I cannot believe how good Small is playing atm. It's going to be tough to keep hold of him at this rate.

Godden did well tonight (sitters aside) and can certainly score goals.
Last season we managed 11 wins and 5 clean sheets in 46 games.
Not always easy on the eye but its points that matter.
