Kanu don’t need a loan.
we don’t need Hylton21 -

Was looking into what type of midfielder Bishop is, there’s a good article on his three years at Lincoln:
https://staceywest.net/2024/02/21/super-ted-the-rebirth-of-ted-bishop/
To summarise he was often played out wide, more recently he’s played centrally and they’re getting the best out of him to the point he’s seen as a top L1, borderline Championship player.
What else stands out are his dribbling stats, clearly a strength of his. Having a CM who can carry the ball well, drive us forward or win free kicks is currently a gap in our midfield. Aribo did it in Bowyer’s team and it adds that threat centrally, taking pressure off the wing backs in the 3-5-2 or 4-4-2 diamond formations NJ favours.0 -

Edmonds-Green Jones Gillesphey
Campbell Docherty Berry Henry
Fraser
Kanu Ahadme
😎
(I love silly crap like this. A bit like that squad we had a few years ago that had about 9 players who all had different first names, but they all began with A.)
No, just a nerdy Wally.

Bishop would be absolutely unreal to complete the midfield, I'd still say that Hylton on trial is just a favour from NJ, we don't need anymore strikers...Ahadme, Godden, Leaburn, Kanu and Aneke is enough, and should there be an injury crisis I'd much rather see Mbick or Casey given a chance.8

Wonder if Hylton is boosting our ST numbers while Leaburn builds fitness1

I especially don't like one of the last comments from Appleton. Knowing Appleton he could have easily got mixed up with Colby Bishop, and even then, has a poor eye for a player.1 -

DamoNorthStand said:I think the board and NJ have done everything we could have reasonably expected of them so far. It feels like we have a positive buzz around the club, some new players from a higher level to see in the friendly games to come, and the promise of a couple more to come at least.
Looking forward to the season ahead
But Nathan Jones PROMISED, double pinky swore it and signed in blood with photographic and video evidence and witness testimonials that he would have the ENTIRE squad, the cure for cancer, fix global warming AND the potholes in the carpark by 27th June.
We obviously have no money, the board aren't supporting NJ, it's Andy Scott's fault, the salmon trousers are too pink.12 -
George Dobson has signed for Wrexham.

Not sure why Hylton was cobblers at the Cobblers, but given neither Aneke or Leaburn were in squad, I'd give him a 6 month deal minimum. He's a bastard for defenders. Need to see Bishop vs decent oppo.0

I think now we know why Greg was announced before an official photoshoot was arranged
The club choreographed it so it would be before.Dobbo's.
Imagine the reaction here if the Doc hadn't signed.12 - Sponsored links:

No way can they fix the pot holes10 -
Hylton being brought in as a sort of striker coach? I don't mind that11

I dunno what capacity he'll be here, if at all, but Jones certainly alludes to him being able to impart knowledge onto our young strikeforce, so I imagine a player/coach role isn't that far fetched3

I'd be very surprised if he was signed up as a regular part of the matchday squad but he could do a job as a sort of lieutenant to Jones among the players.2 -
At the game, Scott Fraser played a peach of a through ball between CB &
full back. Resulting in a goal, on the flip side he was easily disposed 3 or 4 times while moving forward.
I would like to think NJ could mould him into his style of player, but not convinced.
Wonder if he responds to an arm round the shoulder or a kick up the backside?0 -
