Some of you expect far too much. I really don't understand how some of you have a problem with these new owners after the shower of shit we've had in recent years.
This is arguably our best window for a while, and it's their first window.
We can't blame them for CBT - he wanted to go. We can't blame them for JCH - he didn't want to join.
And it's not a case of we should have outbid them and just thrown money at it - it's not our money to throw around.
Was Appleton a shit appointment - yes, but any worse than Dowie, Reed, Parkinson etc, no. Not all appointments will work out, that's why there's so many sackings across the divisions.
I don't know CM outside of his appearance on the Sunderland documentary, so how can I dislike him, why are so many of you against him, when you have so little information about him or his involvement with the club.
It feels like this site has come somewhere for miserable old men to have a good moan!
The issue that most have is that it is NOT their first Window. They were in July - August of the last window and had the purchase dragging on for months before. They knew the players we had and could easily have made plans for what they needed and executed that plan in July / August.
I am emboldened by the fact that the investors are now taking more direct action and involvement as the players we brought in during the summer were not good enough (May was before they took over).
I do think they underestimated the scale of the issue (as Sandgaard did), but seem to be taking steps to resolve this now. I do have some hope for a brighter future now beyond this decade of shit we have endured.

Appleton took us to our lowest position this late in a season in our history! He was worse than Dowie (Prem), Parkinson (never this low in this division), Reed (joke), Fraeye (joke).
The first transfer window was terrible. The sticky plaster loans - we were better off without them.
They seriously misjudged this division and their own skills. The money men have stepped in.
They told all and sundry you only had to be "half decent" to slash costs, bring loads of money in and be successful.
Love it or not, this group mean business, and fully understand the errors so far, I truly think this is an exciting time for us. This lot are truly behind us..
I am pleased they know they've made errors. I sadly don't think they fully understand why though. Otherwise finishing the window short up front, with no perceived number 10 and no quality wide options should we need to switch things up in a game tells me they don't fully understand our weaknesses yet.
I do think they seriously and fundamentally over estimated our playing squad and how much money and work was needed to arrest our decline down the league table.
I believe they will not want us to drop into Division 4. We need a little luck to not get any further injuries. The next month could make or break us.
Nobody wants us to drop into Division 4 but the question is , are the players we have now one up to it and two have enough time to turn things round. This season is not a dead rubber yet,we need to up our game.
Imagine getting annoyed with fans when we have a worse team and league position then under Roland, Sandgaard or the years when we struggled to pay the bills during the Parkinson era.
Hopefully the January player recruitment & Jones are all that changing but until now they have managed to create a worse situation then ever in most of our lifetimes.
Probably timing the announcement for 2.45 pm tomorrow so that they get maximum publicity on Soccer Saturday and Sunday media. Jone will walk out from the directors box wave at the people in the ground and shake hands with Pearce & Fleming and then return to the directors box
I'm reliably informed that contracts have been exchanged between Charlton and Nathan Jones. So it should now be very close indeed.
Unfortunately, immediately after exchange of contracts, there was a snag. A request has been put in to review the details by someone calling himself a Mr Patel.
I know it doesn’t count for anything, but I think this is the first appointment since Powell where I’ve been genuinely excited by it. It just feels right. The fact he’s got a connection to the club too keeps the ‘They must be ‘Charlton’ people happy.
Great news l feel more confident now about the future than I have for years it seems we have owners who are learning from their mistakes and investing money COYR

You must be the only Charlton fan I know who wasn't excited by Russell Slades appointment
Cawley saying - “ Latest info is that Nathan Jones will be confirmed as #cafc’s new boss tomorrow.“
So they've finally finished having talks, more talks, intensive discussions, advanced discussions, and are now actually gonna say something...WOW!!!...can hardly wait...🥱
Keep being reminded that recently we've become incredibly good at screwing things up at the very last minute. In terms of appointing a manager this feels like injury time, which is essentially the point we stop functioning as a football club. Fingers crossed we don't Charlton it now.
On pitch announcement at the Valley? How exciting.
As I’ve said before, something about Jones gives me the heebie jeebies, but if he can do here what he did at Luton then it’ll be exciting times. If it’s Southampton again then it could be a very nervy end to the season.
Unrealistic to think we could attract better without striking gold on an untested new manager.
Happy that he already knows the club, although it’s been through the wringer a few times since he was last here.
Fingers crossed this is where we finally start to get it right again.
I think it will get announced in the morning, 10am my guess, with a short few words but will have to wait till later, maybe even Sunday or Monday, for a full press conference although whether anyone will attend other than Charlton TV, Cawley and Mendez is open to question. Might wheel him out at half time I suppose but then he won’t get a Bovril.

I feel the same. This season has been a disaster, but don’t forget Oxford only just stayed up last season. Think they picked 1 win in 20 in the back-end of last season. I’m hoping it is a case of they’ve taken a back seat for the first 6 months to allow the experience football people Scott/CM/Rodwell to show what they can do whilst learning in the background. The opposite to Sandgaard who thought it was easy. No one can argue that they’ve changed their strategy in funding this window. All Charlton fans want stability hopefully, Jones and the owners will provide this.
Agreed.. and I have been saying it for months.. things take times. But certain fans have made there minds up.. to suck on sour grapes
We get it. You don’t have to say it at the end of every post.
Not sure you do…
I do. You’re hurt because you’ve become the unofficial mouthpiece for the current regime and have taken a lot of stick as a result. Now you’ve developed this siege mentality and have to keep lashing out at your imagined enemies. There’s really no need though.
Ignoring him Dubai -I think he was the same with me when I was giving some info on here s few years back - ITK itis syndrome - the agitant thinks that coz u are giving info out that may be of interest to fellow fans, u r there to be shot at and generally abused when u do so - if the board were full of them, u wouldn’t bother but fortunately they are in the minority and hopefully he can get some cream for it - carry on with the info, I’m sure most appreciate it 👍
He does remind me of you actually. ITK then have a tantrum when challenged.
However, I do appreciate all info given sincerely, even when it turns out to be wrong. Just not keen on the repetitive attacks that come with it.
I’d say he contributes well to the forum - not surprised if he gets annoyed with the likes of u and similar - bumflufff or whatever his name was was another - contribute zero information and zero entertainment or interest on the board but constantly snipe away with snide comments - crack on mate if your happy with that

Not quite right, were they! On any front.

COYR
Just need to get to the exchange bit now, before we can bring the furniture in.
Most that will happen is he is in the stands and comes out at halftime.
Can understand why
