Not anything we didn’t already know in terms of player links but good to get perspective from someone who isn’t a fan but still close enough to the club to understand our shortcomings.
Completely wrong, Goodrham has played about 25 times for Oxford this season at least and if you remember, scored a brace against us earlier this season.
Only Miles is on a similar level
23 league appearances, of which nine have been starts - averaging 44 minutes per appearance.
You’re right that he did score against us twice but I thought that playing well against Charlton wasn’t a valid reason to judge if a player was any good? He’s only managed two other goals across the rest of the season.
I also found a tweet from last week where an Oxford fan says he’s crap so he must be bad.
Because that's what Oxford have over us, genuine quality and squad depth, he'd have been run ragged here but they have quality recruitment who can identify players and as a result can afford to rotate players efficiently.
Just making sure you remember, you don't go to games so I'm not sure if you know how he may have played against us.
Who said that's not a valid reason? What, from when I've said that a performance against us isn't a true basis of a players level as any old Joe in this league can turn the burners on against us? That's literally a tongue in cheek comment that we are pants.
And can say their fans are happy about it. As I always say, you can spin it how you like it.
How many more of my posts are you going to quote out of interest over the course of the season? Just starting to find it a bit odd that I always find you quoting my posts/challenging them. What's the plan with it, as evidently I'm going to say our owners are shit either way.
Like I've implied before, but now i'll say it, you can dig your head in the sand as much as you like, I'll point out my concerns around the club.
I think our owners are full of shit, you don't.
You definitely can spin these things however you like it, you’re not wrong there.
You post a lot, you get quoted a lot. There’s nothing personal in it, it’s the constant willingness to find the worst possible angle in everything recently - even non-Charlton news is used to post digs framed as questions.
I would say I have a healthy distrust of the ownership. Just because I don’t jump on the latest League One news (this morning’s case is Oxford signing academy players to a new contract) and immediately use it to question them doesn’t equate to me backing them.
Lastly, me being out of the country bares little relevance to the topic at hand. I still watch every game, I still see how crap the football has been for the past three years. I’m right there with everyone else in thinking what we’re seeing on the pitch is long way from being good enough.
If we end up with Fiorini and Bakinson whilst missing out on Docherty and Coventry that’ll be pretty underwhelming. I guess it’s the years of being let down but I’m already waiting for the ‘we tried hard’, ‘January is a tough time to buy’, ‘we worked till the very end’ statements to come out.
Some serious rabbits need to be pulled out of hats and soon!
Asked a Bristol City supporting mate about Bakinson, his reply was "He's shit and has a stinking attitude". Definitely fits the kind of profile we are targeting so reckon this is a goer!
Don't completely buy the there's no point of loans point of view.
1: The seasons not over, we still need to pick up points to stay clear of the bottom. If there are good players available for loan why would you not do it. 2: It's less expensive than a permanent deal, it allows us to save money for the summer window where the money can be better spent. 3: It allows us to take a look at a player for 6 months before deciding whether or not we want to try and get them permanently in the summer if that is an option.
Agree with the first point as we are almost in the brown stuff, but long term loans are not the way forward.
My mate says he thought Bakinson looked ok. Didn't slag him off, but said he was behind 3 good others* in challenging for a spot in Wednesdays team, so has hardly played. Said from what he'd seen of him, he thought he could be good given a run of games. I interpreted that as a bit meh, but I don't think he's of Abankwah level desperation.
*Edit, he's behind Bannan, Byers and Vaulks in the pecking order and needs game time.

Bakinson is out of contract in the summer. I don’t massively rate the signing from what I’ve seen of him, but a loan where it’s a bit of a try before you buy is fine as there’s a good chance we get him permanently if he does well
Joe Taylor is an interesting one to maybe keep an eye on. Linked to Bolton too , but not entirely sure why with Charles,Adeboyejo , Bodvasson and Jerome all there as senior strikers.
May have already been said but according to a Luton fan, we were in for him but can't imagine our treatment of Watson has helped our cause.

And we all know he won't do well and he won't be better than Louie Watson who is signed to a Premier League Club, is still wanted by that club and who want to take him back off of us because they can't believe, seeing how shit we are playing, that he's not getting any game time!
If anybody thinks Bakinson is better than Louie Watson, prepare to be UNDERWHELMED!
Be great if Wrexham had a mad moment and put in a bid for Fraser. Sort of in line with their thinking of taking players from clubs higher in the league than them
Wrexham may consider that we are not high enough to take players off?

I don’t think Bakinson is a better player than Watson, but I think he at least fits what the team needs more than Watson does. Bakinson is more defensive minded and has physicality and height that we are massively missing
I’d prefer we kept Watson too, and don’t really rate Bakinson as a signing but I don’t think it’s as bad as people are making out. He fits the profile of what we are lacking in midfield, played 50odd games at this level for 2 good sides in recent years, only 25 so could improve

I don't think that he is what we are looking for. I don't think he's good enough. Winning the ball is not the only problem. Using it properly. Being on the half turn, being able to turn defense into attack, being able to play football all required. Bakinson I don't think is the right choice. I don't want a guy coming back from an injury and an operation.
Yeah Bakinson feels for me the difference between getting bodies in now like people want, or waiting to see if we can get better - Welcome to the madhouse though Tyreeq

to Udinese for treatment. Tedic has a concussion and is going back to City.
Posh want 500k, we’ve offered 300k.
