It’s been quite clear for a while that there isn’t mountains of money to spend on overhauling the squad so I don’t understand when folks get so irate about the situation.
You don’t get why having a shit 3rd division team would make people irate?
We've been that club for near enough ten years now. I suppose I'm past the point of being angry about it.
Pearce may not have been a great footballer, but he is undoubtedly was and is a leader.
Leader I'll give you but he wasn't some sort of defensive organisational mastermind that some make out.
No one claimed he was.
But he was captain at Wembley and has played in the Championship for us and others.
He was also captain at most of his other clubs.
Not the greatest player but made the most of his talents which is just what you want from a manager.
Personally, I hope he gives Fleetwood a thrashing and then steps back into his U21 role to continue his own development as a coach.
But wasn't in the starting 11...
He played over 150 games for us and I can't recall more than a handful where he "organised" some sort of defensive reguard masterclass. Which was my original point.
Ironically his best run of games for us, IMO, was at the start of the championship season when it was like the Alemo. It was also the season he played most games for us.
Great leader? No arguments for me. Great organisation of the back four? Not in my book. Sorry.
My favourite memories of him where one on one battles, especially Mitravic and, I think Wyke at Sunderland.
"Yeah he's good, quick, strong, intelligent, able to pass with either foot and dribble out with the ball. He's a CB but is currently playing at RB, he'd be perfect in a 3 at the back system." An Irish view on Abankwah, Clare's replacement?
If only we had someone good to play on the left of a 3 then we’d be sorted
Genuine question: If he is a brilliant young centre back that they really value highly. Why would Udinese think, “I know who we’ll send him to, that random side in League One in England without a manager who have started the season really badly.”
It is the Watford owners though, they probably thought wow they’ve sacked their manager already what a well run club

Because Charlie Boy and his group have been telling fans (who then tell us), there is plenty of money available.
Therefore if there is little cash we've been played again and the only people going to enjoy the next year are CM and the group who will be trousering significant salaries!
Whilst we continue to suffer and be lied to.
That's why.
Sadly.
As soon as the FFP stories started appearing on here a couple of weeks ago then you knew the well had run dry

Since 2006 when Curbs turned it in, minus three years with Powell and Bowyer. We have gone from a club to be looked up to and now being laughed at.

I never believed the whispers for a second. And I don't think most others (including you?) did either. We've had too many false dawns to take anyone decent at face value, let alone Charlie Methven.
Regardless, some money has been spent. But not as much as most will have wanted.

I’d love the 2016 version of JP in the defence and as captain now. Even the 2021 version would be better than most of what we have now .

Given CBT almost went in January to Wigan this doesn't especially surprise me that there is Championship interest. But it would be a massive letdown if he did go and wasn't adequately replaced.
Icing on the cake . Let’s let Dobbo and Leaburn go too and make it the best window ever
Hope not true, but if we was to get 1.5 - 2 mill, would be good business for us right?
No. He's just about the only viable attacking threat we have right now (Campbell II MAYBE the exception). He goes and without signing multiple JRS level loans (which ain't happening) we go from flirting with relegation (on current form) to basically inviting it, IMO.
Plus us actually getting as much as that is laughable. He goes for less than 1mill... sadly.

Depends your view. Short term then picking up a player for nothing and selling for £1.5M is great business. Long term selling your best players when near the relegation zone with an injury plagued, young squad could well cost a LOT more. Also would demonstrate a lack of ambition and turn more fans off affecting revenue. Of course if we have 2-3 ready made replacements to come in then fine but nothing we have seen suggests that. With 1 yr in his contract and a L1 player I would be amazed if he was more than a £250K punt for someone anyway.
It’s not Corey’s fault obviously but it does seem as if the team was set up in recent weeks to just give him the ball and pray something happens. That’s not a sustainable way to get results, as we’ve seen.
Instead, we need to be playing as a team and creating chances through attacking patterns of play. Much more likely to be able to sustain a run of positive results when you’re not reliant on an inconsistent wing player.
I don’t want to lose Corey by any means but at the same time it would be interesting to see how the team adapts as soon as that option to “give it to Corey” is taken away.
if we got substantial money for CBT and reinvested it well today I’d be happy - he’s got something but personally I’m bored of seeing him absolutely murder a full back the whole game but somehow create virtually nothing
If Corey goes I'll genuinely be fkn livid. That would be taking the absolute biscuit.
Pigs on pitch immediately
If CBT goes in this window given the current state of the squad that's me finished. Going to the Fleetwood game but that will be me done for as long as this mob are in charge.

But not now as it will be to late as the window slams shut.

Mugs game mate.
I am really hoping this is pure fabrication cause Corey is one of the only players who actually looks up to it atm
