  • I fancy Arsenal to do it actually.

Guardiola was getting pelters from fans on talkSPORT this evening.
  • Arsenal 43pts from 16 games is very impressive. Only three teams previously have equalled or bettered that since 92 and all three went on to win the league.

    05/06 Chelsea, 43pts
    17/18 Man City, 46pts
    19/20 Liverpool, 46pts

If they can come out of the next half a dozen or so games unscathed, during which time they have Newcastle (H), Spurs (A), Man United (H) and Man City (H), then they really will be on for the title
  • Odegaard for £30million was outrageous at the time and looks worse for Madrid with every passing week.
Every club has good and bad transfers though. They paid 72m for Nicolas Pepe and sold Emi Martinez for 15m.

Edu coming in was a turning point for the club though, completely changed their transfer strategy and they've generally bought really well since his arrival. Saliba 27m, Gabriel 25m, Ramsdale 25m, Zinchenko 30m, Ben White 50m also looks a great deal now.

City's next 3 games are Chelsea and United away and Spurs (who are their bogey side) at home so the next few weeks will also make or break their title hopes.

I suspect that it was with this run of matches in mind that the likes of Foden, Cancello, Bernardo Silva and Walker didn't start the immediate matches following the World Cup

Very bizarre from Guardiola yesterday. City didn't really play well at all and once Everton equalised (64 minutes) you'd have thought it was inevitable he'd make changes. Yet he somehow left it until the 87th minute to bring on Foden, Alvarez and Gundogan. Absolutely no idea what he was seeing that he felt there was no need to change things.

City are going to find it tough now if they drop many more points but the bookies still make them slight favourites.
  • Nice to see Nottingham Forest singing Valley Floyd Road at the start of the second half.

Must be delighted with our win over Pompey too
  • For all the Liverpool haters on here, get yourself watching their game at Brentford!

    You'll enjoy it!

  • Great celebrations at Brentford.
  • Love watching Brentford.  So much better entertainment than watching the utter dross in N17.
  • Another fantastic refereeing performance this game. Genuinely awful from minute one.

Depairing at the quality of referees in this country. From the top down.
  • Brighton and Brentford really are the model sides in England at the moment arent they!!
  • Everton 0 Brighton 4

Still half an hour to go!

Brighton especially, though mainly for their hatred of Palace.

  • Bought into the pre-match hype for the Arsenal v Newcastle match but it hasn’t really lived up to the billing so far.

Ref ruined the game being card happy in the first half and Newcastle are offering nothing other than 11 men behind the ball.

Shame for a 1st v 2nd clash to be like that.
  • Arteta needs to calm TF down, it’s all the time
  • Arsenal really not covering themselves in glory with this whining.
  • Newcastle playing like a team who arent a top four side yet, they still dont have the quality.

But showed tonight why they're there
  • A Newcastle record equal 6th consecutive clean sheet for Nick Pope. Newcastle have now conceded just 5 goals in their last 15 matches.
  • Newcastle played like they're sitting in 18th not 2nd.

But they do have a great defense it must be said.

Neither are in the QF of the Carabao Cup though, so we must be better  ;)

Everton follow up a draw at City with being thrashed at home to Brighton. Frank under pressure...
