don't understand the hoohah over how he was told he was going. At the end of the day it's the same result. I was made redundant after 26 years service for a Bank in the City and wasn't afforded a leaving do or even a collection as was the norm when folk usually left but I soon got over it.

I think a phone call is the correct way to dismiss someone. Nobody wants others to see their raw emotions or having to complete the walk of shame out of the building.

In this instance JJ will have the opportunity to compose himself and get his thoughts in order and enjoy coming in to pick up his things and have a chat with friends and colleagues and say his goodbyes.

Can someone find the stats on the method of each of our managerial sackings?
I think Sandgaard junior put the details into his Black Box, and this came out as the most efficient method in performance indicators, thus let hus dad know and job done.

I was made redundant on the spot face to face and it was horrible. I think i'd prefer to be told over the phone.

A mate of mine went to work one day - put his electronic pass in the machine to go through the front door of his offices, and it didn’t work - there was a woman with a clipboard nearby, she saw what happened, called him over and asked his name - his name was on her list - she told him to go to another entrance, where he was escorted to a large very meeting room, where lots of other colleagues were already - after 15 mins, a senior person walks in, tells them they are now redundant - my mate was escorted to his locker, told not to speak to anyone in the building, then out the front door after handing over his pass, laptop etc

When he told me, I was of the view that what they did was illegal, but this did happen

He wasn’t bothered - got a decent payoff - went on holiday for 3 months (he was already divorced, no children) - came back, got a new job, with the added satisfaction that whilst he had been away his previous employer had gone bust 😄
A friend got made redundant by a big bank. They sounded the fire bell and everyone evacuated.
Those being made redundant were given a box with their belongings in and not allowed back in.

My mate was a trader in the City, so similar - financial institutions can be really nasty to their staff

Nasty?  It’s just protecting sensitive data from potentially upset, emotional and potentially vindictive (ex) staff . Difficult to do it another way; most of the rime

It is nasty and it is not difficult to exclude anyone from systems. It is not only Banks that have that issue and manage to deal with it.
Maybe they should use the phone? Surely better than the humiliation described.

It doesn't mean I agree with it  however I was made redundant by phone from none other than a UK University...its the way things are done nowadays.
Exactly; we received some devastating news over the phone on Saturday night / Sunday morning, from the NHS.
Oh 🤞 that works out ok. It’s easy to lose perspective, good luck.

I always got the feeling that TS never wanted JJ as permanent boss, which that is why he took a while to make it so and mainly because of the fans. Probably why he gave him a contract that if he did not do well he could sack him with less compensation
I always had the feeling that Thomas felt a bit let down by Jackson's part in the Adkins situation.  I assume they had some sort of conversation when he was made Adkins number 2 about support and belief in the project, system, formation etc etc?

If Jackson agreed that 4231 etc etc had his full support then ditched it at the first opportunity, how would you feel if it was your money?

Sandgaard is Charlton...he owns the club and mostly it is his money.
I am grateful that my season ticket is the same price.
I just wish he would put in a proper CEO if the COO is not that post and step back a bit.
The trouble is if it was my money I wouldn't  be able to do that .
    Nor would I.

He owns the club but if he wants the majority of fans onboard he has to run it properly. If he doesn't care and just wants to do it his way, he is going to fail which will threaten the future of the club.

Actions speak louder than words. That isn't saying one thing or the other, just that maybe it isn't enough at this point to say how good the future is going to be until the clear evidence is there.

Fortunately he does care and is running the Club very well which is why the vast majority of fans are behind him.
    The future looks good.
Based on what? I concede that there are some mitigating factors but at the very best we've trod water - three managers and several million pounds later there's been no actual progress on the pitch and the club is still losing money.

It will continue to lose money even in Championship - TS view that he can break even is highly unlikely, unless a player is sold for big money, which judging by current squad is pie in the sky
