My suspicion is that TS may take his advice on football matters from someone outside the UK given the garbled terminology he uses - so I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with a manager from the Continent. German managers were the vogue a while back.
"It would take me 15 to 20 years to become as good as Michael Beale as an on-pitch coach, delivering sessions on a daily basis, so I let Mick be Mick because he's the expert."
Les Reid was a very good coach - that didn't make him a good manager.
Very true, I believe that Curbs success was massively aided by Les Reid’s coaching….
Has anyone mentioned Claus Jensen, done a pretty good job managing a small club in Denmark for the past two years, that may be near the limits of its potential and all the obvious connections. TS must know him - and he does like being popular.
Michael Beale's title is assistant coach so it would be a leap from a number 3 to being the guy that picks the team. Thomas Sandgaard spoke on Zoom about Michael Beale as if he had applied last time. Wouldn't we have to head hunt him now?
If Sandgaard is serious about his stated ambitions (*checks with @JamesSeed for approval*), doesn't the new Manager have to be with us on the journey to the Premier League?
That would rule out any upcoming young aspirants. We need someone who is Premier League-ready.
Sandgaard has said that he "will do everything it takes to get there" (Source: the latest interview on the OS -7 mins onward).
Someone mentioned a woman doing the job and the more I think about it,it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.
The publicity Sandgaard would get would be something only someone like him could only dream of. Would go down an absolute treat with his American following and maybe even some of them would watch. Never been done before and it's a new angle.
Got Sandgaard written all over it!
Yeah it was me. Mainly said in jest, but wouldn't shock me
Saw the women's game on Sunday. Charlton did a Golfie. Heads didn't drop. If Karen Hills took the mens team it would cause uproar but is there a good reason why she couldn't? Hypothetical of course
There are plenty of reasons she couldn’t. In fact, has she ever been involved in men’s football?
I wonder if Sandgaard will be looking at Danish managers? Kent Nielsen is apparently doing very well in the Danish superliga for Silkeborg. Fans are saying he plays a high pressing 433. Has experience of English football playing for Aston Villa (quite some time ago in the late 80s), Danish fans saying he may end up being coach of the season. I also wonder if we have the pull to take one of their young talents with him in Sebastian Jorgensen. 11 goals and 8 assists in 28 matches, wages estimated between 3-5k, market value of 900k.
If Thomas does want a Danish manager I do wonder if he could afford the wages of these top flight European clubs managers.
Just thinking a little outside the box. After watching the Beale and Warburton YouTube videos I do think they’d both be decent options and I’d be very optimistic with either.
There's a lot of names flying around right now. But one thing is for sure we don't want a manager who's been out of the game for a large period of time. Regardless of experience.
I would rather take a gamble on a L2 or L1 manager who's done well and has a point to prove.
I saw reports that Sandgaard wants a manager or assistant manager who has championship experience as the new boss.
There might be lots of applications but I can only assume 3-6 meet the expectations and experience of what is required. Compensation could also be involved. What is Thomas willing to pay if it comes to this?
There's lots for Sandgaard to consider. But what I feel is absolutely clear is we don't want someone back in like NA, we need someone who's really down and active within with the modern game right now.

Claus Jensen is manager of a 2nd tier Danish club - just saying.
This concerns me and may explain why the announcement hasn't been made yet. Has the Cypriot season finished yet? Lennon's tenure at Bolton was terrible.
Remember Gallen is a Celtic fan and he has a say in the selection.
Pass me the smelling salts, i feel a bit queezy 🤢🤢 Meltdown on CL if this is anything other than a sick rumour, c'mon Cawley put our minds at rest please...
MK Dons beat them twice in the league, finished loads of points ahead of them and almost went up automatically. The playoffs are a lottery. There's no point to make here. I know which of these teams I'd rather see Charlton play like - it's the style that has a hope in the Championship too
Kind of reads a bit like Lennon was a rumour possibly based on people mentioning his name on here or social media, Cawley hasn't had his name ruled out by any source so it's just added as a footnote just in case there is any truth to it. I'm hoping that's the case anyway.
I haven't been through the 30 previous pages so he may already be there, but Matt Taylor has just brought Exeter up on a limited budget (and with what is essentially a fan-owned club).
i know Sandgaard will never be fully guided by fan viewpoint but I really hope someone drills into him how much an unpopular and fracturing appointment Lennon would be

What? More talk with no substance?
Surely not.
Rangers youth team manager? Would be an interesting suggestion or is this because of his truly weird haircut?

Lennon would certainly not be my choice.
