TS is surprised by the amount of applicants already and feels this means the club is in a much better state already and is more attractive proposition than it was a year ago. He also agrees that we need a manager who has experience of the level we want to get to (champ) rather than just league 1 or below. He also says it will be a little while before a new manager is announced, at least 2 weeks.
Urgh. So Beale, Taylor etc ruled out. Why not get someone on the up with fresh ideas rather than another Adkins who’s probably past his best?
Assuming it’s true we’re ruling out those who could potentially develop into great managers in the future because we want someone who’s not managed to keep themselves in a job at a higher level.
So I said to we should get someone who can get us out of the league and who has Champ experience (just my opinion) and he replied with 'Yes, makes sense'.
Mark Warburton fits that bill - The only one who really does from the odds
Just a theory (a bit like "You cant sign Out of Contract players till 1st July" so take with a pinch of salt)
But if we go for someone like Warburton or Beale, I wonder if we'll have to wait until their last game of the season is done and out the way, before we hear an announcement.
Thanks for the update. Everything I have read makes me think he already decided who he wants and just waiting for it to be confirmed.
Two weeks would be the time period between season ending and having a holiday post season. This is all guess work, but be interesting if more noise picks up when the football league is over as both Championship and league two still have matches to play on Saturday.
Sandgaard's comments since the announcement worry me. He's getting too involved in the running of the team.
Talking about high press & defensive blocks like he knows what he's talking about.
It's a worrying sign.
The recruitment strategy worries me too. Don't think the manager has much say. I cant see the club progressing until he changes his approach & starts putting the team above his own ego
Why can't we just be a normal football club??
It’s crossed my mind that only a bit of a crazy guy would have bought Charlton when he did. Taking on ESI and dealing with Duchâtelet (and not being allowed to buy the assets) would have put off any but the most stubborn. Others lost money trying, and many more appear to have given up at the first hurdle.

I said: Do you think we will get an announcement in the next week? TS replied 'That might be a bit too early'.
JFH was a poor player for us as we got him too late. Irrelevant to his ability as a manager. Would he be my choice? No, but he's done a decent job at Burton on a tiny budget.
Martin Sandgaard can't be manager as you need badges these days. He ain't got them.
Thomas very unlikely to appoint a woman IMHO because, among many reasons he's, by his own admission, not PC or woke, meaningless and overused as those words now are. See "Ladies" team

The manager supplies SG with his targets and his team ( including MS) do their homework on each player .. then it’s down to SG to get the deal done with the agents and club … TS is only saying what majority of fans said about Jackson style of play but as he said he has no interest in telling the manager what to do
Jason Euell and SG are looking after first team affairs until new manager / Head Coach is appointed

Actually Lee Bowyer does as well. Not that I am suggesting its a go'er.

That confirms that the person he wants is with another club …

Bowyer plays the opposite of dynamic, fluid, possession based football.
My feelings is it is very likely to be Warburton. He ticks all the boxes that TS is looking for, and as previously mentioned by other posters, I feel like his becoming available probably led to JJ getting the sack.

Experience of higher levels as either a coach or a manager I hope! Can't be ruling out the Beales of the world already...plus, 'experience' can be a double-edged sword, given how many have experienced and failed...
I would not kniw where to start with trying to find a decent manager. Look at David Moyes as an example. I'd written him off a long time ago.

I disregarded him, as he has been lucky to stay in the Championship with Birmingham, rather than push on at that level.
I don't want Warburton he is too old. He is a full year older than the average age of this years champions league finalists.

I really don't buy into this yesterday's man nonsense. Some times managers have success, or failer, due to fluke circumstances. But good managers are good managers. Out of the 92 only a dozen or so can be successful at anyone time. That doesn't make the other 80 bad.
Of course there are some bad managers, of course we have had some, but most are victims of circumstances.

I got shouted down, laughed at and told I was talking shite when I said TS was too involved in the team a couple of months back.
The same happened when I said his wife was too involved as well, watch this space on that one.
