I think for Taylor it was more right job wrong time. He would’ve wanted to come here but he’s settled and his family are settled. With a baby on the way, it’s a big move and an even bigger risk if it doesn’t work out. He was definitely in the running we know that for sure but maybe he turned us down because of circumstances that dictate more than football.
would definitely feel a bit underwhelmed with this appointment, but then again we've gone down the 'name' route (Adkins) and I was very optimistic when he was appointed and look how that turned out

After 14 years at this level, surely you get our target is to get out of this league, but we aren't the big name club we were. In our season in the championship with Bowyer it was clear we were seen by most as minnows.
Let's give Garner a chance if he is our man to achieve that promotion.
My point is I don’t expect anyone to not be fucked off with our current shitness as a football club and I don’t see the problem with having a moan up on the internet about each and everything (yeah it can be tiresome but it’s understandable)because accepting of everything has lead to the continued malaise and wankness at Charlton . People do need to listen to what TS says and not what they hope he will do. It has been very clear he wanted a coach rather than a Manager who would play a certain way, this is what he has delivered.
No idea on whether this a good appointment so can't criticise or priase, will simply turn up, watch and support.

I’m very surprised at the line you are taking here. I presume you have good reasons for it, as it’s quite unsettling. On the face of it, I’m not sure how you could have access to the full recruitment long-list, which is what you imply.
As a dinosaur I miss wingers, somebody with a trick to buy a yard and then deliver a cross. I also think possession is great as long as you win games, much rather watch Fergie's United of the mid 90s than most modern teams, or even the Newcastle of that era.
Any new manager is a risk and any appointment would have reasons to fear it. Beale has never managed etc. So Swindon started last season poorly? Probably due to bedding in all the new players, if it is him then so be it.
When he was first mentioned, I thought he looked credible as a potential head coach, which is what I assumed TS wanted. If he is appointed, I hope we do well under him. From where we are, he's got a tough job ahead of him though, so he'll need time.
Really why. I have no idea wheather this new manager will be a success or not but being allowed to bring his own coaching staff with him and not having to work with a coach he may not necessary get on with makes sense to me.

TS's number one choice (before he even sacked Jackson) was Beale. Beale will not come to work under this set up despite being very keen on becoming a manager in his own right. Warburton was I believe second choice, again will not work under the set up (but also holding out for another championship job). I don't know for sure that Smith has been spoken to, but my understanding is he was, but again without being a broken record, and especially as he still has many contacts in and around Charlton (not least Jackson) he won't work under TS.
On Beale - just remember what TS said previously (before Jackson was appointed);
"He has a fantastic track record, especially on the supporting side, of course we talked to Michael. We’ve also been a little more ambitious than that, in terms of the level of managers we’ve been reaching for."
Had Beale been interested post Adkins then 100% TS would have appointed him and not Jackson. No offence to Jackson as I love the bloke and believe he should have been given more time, but he only got the gig mainly because TS couldn't get anyone else.
So we're reaching for higher caliber managers......... yer right, it's a case of make good and do, speak to anyone in and around the first team and you'll understand why we will struggle to attract a 'head coach' of any caliber. I think TS's struggle is he cannot accept a large part of that reason is him and how he is setting up the running of the football side of the club doesn't compute with most managers/coaches.
