Jacko has already nabbed Bowyer's negative traits, at a speed I never thought would be possible.
Stubborn and playing people out of position is one thing but both his discipline and the teams is awful and can be backed up statistically.
The post match interviews have become negative and miserable too.
FFS all so quickly since everybody looked so up for it during the interim honeymoon.
Maybe this is the problem when you have managers who put too much value into passion, getting stuck in, playing for the shirt, and not enough into shape, movement and tactics when in possession.
You end up with an ill disciplined team who play poor football.
This is why I can’t see anything changing if we get better players in next season. I think with better players, where as we will likely naturally finish higher in the table, we will still play the same brand of football which I personally don’t think is enough to get a team promoted from this league.
Jacko looked totally pissed off in the post match interview, he seems to have aged 10 years in a few months as manager, really hacked off with Innis, and i wonder if he may be having second thoughts himself with all this manager stuff, does he really have the will to carry on, i wonder..
Does he have the ABILITY to carry on is the more relevant question, as our football is awful at the moment.
It looked like a Hackney Marshes tackle. I do think he came back after a long lay off and wasn't at the pace of the game. It mitigates but doesn't excuse. This is after all professional football not Sunday League football even if it is League One.
There would have been a much better brawl on Hackney Marshes.

Why didn't he play an u23 game or two? Pearce and Famewo are fit, it's not a comparable situation with Stockley and Washington.

You would assume the coaching staff wanted a good look at him in a set of league games, as to make a decision on whether to renew his contract or not.
Let’s face it our midfield is crap whoever we play. Lee went missing again and can’t tackle, Dobson was shocking tonight, JFC was average, DJ is a rubbish showman, Gilby is shit etc etc.
Couldn’t watch most of it so can’t comment on the game itself. Saw the replay of the red card, hopefully that ends any thoughts that Inniss is worth another contract.
Can’t wait for this season to be over. Jackson and the squad must feel the same. We’re safe now and there’s nothing to play for. Players aren’t going to give that extra few percent and this squad doesn’t have enough quality on the pitch and the bench. The team spirit won’t be there with so many players knowing they’re on the way out. I really don’t think we can read much at all into results and performances, it’s all about how we go about our business in the summer. Looking forward to seeing the released list.
Still believe getting recruitment is more important than the right manager. Bowyer, Adkins and Jackson have all struggled, what they all had in common are squads that aren’t promotion standard. A new manager won’t improve things if they’d have a similar squad next season.
We have no decent strikers on the bench to change a game. Aneke’s fitness issues and injuries mean we’ll likely need five senior strikers rather than four. We don’t have a single midfielder close to scoring double figures, never mind two or three. Inniss is our only CB who’s a consistent threat from set pieces and he’s not even available for 20 games a season.
Whether Matthews and Pearce get new deals will give us an indication of the budget and ambition for the summer. If the likes of Gunter and Inniss get new deals then that’ll show they have no idea what they’re doing.
I hope TS is playing down expectations this time and continuing to evaluate what’s required. Five permanents and a similar number of loans might be enough if they get recruitment spot on. Only two plus five loans will see more of the same with a realistic chance of getting even worse.
I don’t expect us to replicate 11/12 under Powell but we’ve got to give it a proper go. This squad needs a big rebuild and change of culture, not rewarding failure by giving average and declining players new contracts. Not confident it’ll happen but at the very least it can’t be anywhere near as bad as last summer, can it?
Our football is rubbish, I've no idea what they practice in training when it comes to passing, movement, triangles etc.
We're CONSISTENTLY poor that's the worrying thing, even when we won those 3 games, our football was functional rather than progressive
I can't even work out how we try and score goals.
Even risk limited Bowyer ball had an obvious method.
Our 3 goal scoring options seem to be CBT does something a bit special, hoof a high ball in the general direction of Stockley or Washington runs on to an aimless punt up the pitch.
Today's goal was quite good, how many goals like that have we scored this season? With a center forward like Stockley it should be double fingers, even if someone else finishes it off. Over his head, hits the post, keeper palms it out etc etc.
I am a bit confused who we are getting in and from where for all the people we seem to want to let go. If I were 1. A championship player looking for 1st team football and a challenge rather than money, there are at least 14 other teams in Div 3 I would look at 2. A Highly rated Div 4 or relegated Div 3 player - ditto 3. Top half Div 3 team or surplus to requirements in a promoted Div 3 team - ditto
So once we ship all these guys out, and the black box whirs its way through pre-season and we are scratching around for cheap or hand out players or overpaid, over age loanees at the end of august, this forum will be a good read.
i honestly have no faith at all in the recruitment team, little faith in the commitment of the necessary dosh and don’t see where all these white knights are coming from (or why they would). We are a low level Div 3 team with shrinking attendance numbers (when it aint free) and a nice ground……that’s not enough. The problem is bigger than the players and the manager, and the expectations are far higher than the reality
I can't remember a Charlton team with so little tactical shape, way of playing, ability to pass forward and confidence. We are so one dimensional it hurts.
The fact that the past 10 years plus have been nothing short of abysmal (minus 2 seasons), it is an incredible achievement to be the worst team in that period.
Sick of every single member of the playing staff and management.
You have a short memory ? You must yearn for Nigel Adkins and no shots on target.

Easy to forget how poor we were by the end of 10/11 (Powell too nice, not the man to take us forward, kept changing formation etc) and 16/17 (Robinson loved his 4-2-3-1, played slow tippy tappy football at the back, Magennis as a lone striker, give it to Holmes). It’s bad now but we finished 13th in both of those seasons, we were no better in either of those.
Shame I have to say this, but I really cant wait for the F/T whistle at Ipswich
Have barely reacted to the last two goals that have gone in for us - Feel nothing when the opposition score.
Nights like this make me question if its worth me getting my 25th season ticket next year. Ironically probably will as have this nagging feeling that the year I give it all up, I'll miss something special.
Dont even have the prospect of the World Cup to look forward to in a month or two, thanks FIFA!!
Yes like getting relegated to the 4th Division for the first time ever.
Think of all that extra time you'll be able to get out with the camera
Everything about our club - from top to bottom, back office to field, coaching to players, ownership and beyond.
Is a total and utter shitfuckwank of a mess.
I don't even know if that's a word, but frankly we are that fucking horrendous we deserve to rewrite the dictionary for what the definition of fucking shite actually is.
I've got absolutely no interest in watching a side next season that has Jackson in charge.
I’m sorry to say that I agree. That tonight was our true first eleven, and it was awful. Then throw in the indiscipline unprofessional attitude of Gilbey and Inniss and you really wonder about his quality as a leader. Time to rethink the entire thing from top to bottom.
Problem is we need the owner to change or to change the owner. Neither option looks very likely
Said it at the end of the match thread barring 10 mins and a flash of skill from Matthews in the second half that was shite (again).
I feel like a stuck record, but I am sick of the total lack of flexibility when it comes to tactics. 3-5-2 come what may it seems.
We are getting worse and worse. There is no discernable pattern of play, no evidence of team spirit, no leaders on the pitch and substantial percentage of the squad, management team and non footballing staff simply are not up to it
I am still fucked off with Innis. Jimmy Stone on Twitter hinted that he thought Innis had deliberately got himself sent off. The fact he had the cheek to laugh as he was walking off sums him and the whole situation with the playing staff up.
The performances have got worse and worse, the tactics are non existent and we are now seeing a total lack of discipline working its way into the team. A few months ago I would have laughed at someone suggesting Innis got sent off deliberately to avoid a trip to Rotherham, but now I am not so sure. I am genuinely struggling to remember witnessing a worse tackle from a Charlton player in my 40+ years of support. I definitely can't think of a more brainless act. He should have the book thrown at him and for me that's it with him. He is a waste of a wage and I hope we never see him again.
There comes a time with most things where you have to rip it up and start again completely. IMO we reached that point when Adkins was outed. I would advocate every out of contract player being moved on, every loan going back and not being re-signed and for the entire first team coaching staff to follow them out the door.
We need a fresh perspective. A new man with his own team around him and he needs to be given autonomy around the squad and recruitment. Without that I can see next season being a total horror show. When we inevitably get dicked on Saturday, that is 20 defeats in this shit house league. 20 fucking defeats. That is shameful for a club of our size.

This is what i don't get, we were pressing, closing people down, supporting each other, full of energy, breaking at speed ........... & then we stopped, what happened ?
I hate to say it but why would he sign for us? Much bigger teams in League 1 who will pay more and is in my opinion likely to be given a chance by a Championship side.
would love to see him at the Valley in a Charlton shirt next season but can’t see it. Be happy to be proved wrong.
If by some miracle we can bring him in we need at least another 5 of 6 players to support him or he will have a another season like this one with Morecambe.
I was in the main stand directly opposite the tackle, you could see things were not good when he moved forward to the poor Wimbledon guy. A disgraceful attempt and not surprisingly not one Charlton player approached the referee to contest the decision.
The hype about Washington as a great goal scorer needs to be put to bed. Yes he does run around a lot but All strikers can hit the net a few times but this guy takes tons of chances to hit the net. He can fuck of with all of them with exemption to Dobson.
Was there, but sitting in the west stand (row F up the Charkton end) I couldn't see well enough to mark players because the spotlights are too low. Could see sod all when the ball was near the far touchline, or up the other end. I did see the excellent Matthews/Stockley combo goal though, and Ryan’s exquisitely timed tackle that the blind ref somehow saw as a foul. Wimbledon were very poor. We much better than them in spells, but you could see the equaliser coming.
Couldn’t actually see the equaliser because it was up the far end.

I must say that I laughed when they equalised.
I suggest this for our new kit next season:
1. A championship player looking for 1st team football and a challenge rather than money, there are at least 14 other teams in Div 3 I would look at
2. A Highly rated Div 4 or relegated Div 3 player - ditto
