LB left FACT over interference I have known Lee since he was a boy I and my company sponsored him as a kid so I have heard things that was not in the public domain now frankly I am not bothered if you believe or not.
Renewing Pearce and Watson looks like an even dumber move in hindsight thanks to this squad cap.
Willingly having poor players in the side for that Adkins himself admitted weren't good enough.
If we don't include JFC yet we still have room to sign 5 outfield players (excluding Dempsey). I don't think the squad cap is going to affect us as didn't expect us to sign more than that anyway.
I don't think it will effect us but even with the cap we could sign
The back up keeper (doesn't count)
Then the first choice LB and CM we are desperate for.
Then a RCB, CM and another forward
If any of them were U21, some of the loans might be, we will still have space. The cap isn't a problem.

Agreed. Although I could be wrong, I believe loan players count in the 22 even if they are U21.
EDIT - I was incorrect, the above only applies to the Championship squad limit which is a bit weird.
There's no salary cap (only FFP) but there is a 21 player squad limit.
It has been challenged but the whole process is likely to take some time, as we saw with the wage cap.
I'm not sure the challenge will win. There has been a squad cap in the Premier League for quite a while and I haven't seen too many complaints against it. Of course a major difference is Premier League clubs can afford to leave a player or two out of it, but that's still pointless as you've got a professional footballer not able to play competitively.
and for those who state we need more they also need to realise there is a slight limit to squad sizes and we only have a handful of slots remaining.
I really don’t think this is a factor now. We’ve started a season well short of what we need and remain well short of any limit.
If we were on the limit and still seemed short of what we need, I’m sure attempts would,be accelerated to loan out to make some additional headway.
The closer we get to Deadline Day the closer I fear we will get to taking unproven punts to fill squad as opposed to players we’ve actively been targetIng.

I’m not doubting that’s true but he also jumped before he was pushed. Not a chance Bowyer was making it through the summer as Charlton manager. We were in awful form playing awful football. Much like we are now.

Premier league is also 25 players... not 21
Yes but that includes goalkeepers, and ours doesn't. It's 22 for this coming season, 21 next season and then 20 for 2023/24 and going forwards. This season seems quite generous when you consider you could have 2 goalkeepers, 22 outfield players and then 2/3 U21 loans. The Championship is restricted to 25 players including keepers and U21 loans so in theory League 1 and 2 clubs can have bigger squads than the Champ this season.
There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes and it’s not in the public domain. Bowyers departure is included in this. He jumped before he was pushed.
I am reliably informed there are “3 or 4 more coming in”

If they’re worried about squad limit, then it’s their bloody fault for signing cack players in the first place and realising that we need more but possibly will be unable to.
Will be a fake account, only set up 5 days ago, just after someone on here randomly mentioned his name.
Says it was set up in July 2018 on my app...
Don't exactly look genuine but that is a seriously long term plot job!
Usually it will be an old account that someone changes the username of. If you look at who he follows, it's every Indian league team, then a random collection of Indian sports journalists and league news accounts, classic "who to follow" fodder.
All his replies are from Charlton fans, and the liked tweets by the account are mostly Liverpool tweets. If it's real then I'd be incredibly surprised, but I suspect it's some sad little asshat in his bedroom

"The central defender has impressed at youth level, starring at the 2018 Under-18 Asian Championships as India conceded no goals in the group stage en route to the quarter-finals. He impressed again on loan at developmental club Indian Arrows before returning to Punjab, turning down offers from bigger Indian clubs, in May. Composed on the ball, a great reader of the game, and capable of excellent, fast, long throw-ins, the teenager has already been earmarked for a quick progression to the full international side."
Was in the guardian top 60 players born in 2003.
It's almost certainly not true as how could he get a work permit anyway?
Been listening on and off to Danny Cowley and how difficult it's been to sign players within the constraints of the budget he has to work with.
He mentions the costs having to fall by as much as two thirds of what he has to spend on individuals. Talked a lot of sense.
Then I thought, how are Pompey doing? I hadn't checked on anyone's results and was shocked to see them top with three straight wins.
This has to highlight two things, how crap our normally excellent recruiting has been and how inept we are within the squad we have to change our formation to suit playing against different opposition.
When we had a lower budget, less back room staff ( and possible interference) we put together a hot potch squad that was there or thereabouts all season.
Look at today's situation. Money invested in the infrastructure, employing people in the commercial side and so called technical directors, the integration of the ladies side, etc and a bigger budget than last year...and we have the likes of Dobson, Clare and McGillivray, arguably sub standard signings and a system of playing out from the back that the keeper and our back four look very uncomfortable with, especially Famewe, and the worst midfield threesome in recent years spelling a recipe for the only option, hoofball.
I hope I'm wrong, but to me I think behind the scenes something is going very pearshaped, and with Tommy being predominantly overseas he isn't seeing the full picture or is listening to the wrong people.
Not a rumour I know but that's not stopped anyone else talking bollocks so I thought I'd chip in.

This is not a defence of our recruitment, which as everyone knows has been sub par, but I feel its really to early to judge against a team like Pompey who have so far played the bottom 3 teams (2 of them at home).
I'd have expected us to win those 3 games as well.

He left because he was going to be sacked and jumped ship.
I won't believe this until you write FACT somewhere in the sentence.
