Roland was an absolute shambles.
But Sandgaard in terms of players sold/released after 1 year is on par to match Roland's numbers in 6.
But TS hasn’t happened yet, unless you’ve evidence to suggest he’s secretly planning on selling every piece of young talent we have for a quick buck to cover losses way under market value?
Weren't clubs being quoted £1m for just Dale earlier in the window? Maybe we've finally got to that stage of the window where it's take what's there
It's been mentioned a few times that many clubs are struggling because of covid. Naturally earlier in the window if a player is worth (for example) 700k, the selling club will stretch it and ask for 1m. Buying club say no chance. Then the closer we get to the deadline the selling club are now faced with needing to sell to potentially have enough money to get through the season.
Buying club know this and come back with 500k. Selling club has no other option but to do a cut price deal in the next 2 weeks or risk not being able to afford to get through the next few months.
And at the end of deadline day TS standing with our 7 last minute wonder signings turns around and says “what were you worried about?”.
As he proudly shows off a group photo of new signings with him standing alongside Bogle, Frank Nouble, David Davis, Matt Smith (any of them), Darren Purse and Steve Portway.

Couldn't remember date of take over, just went from end of August tbh.
No, they were sold in Sandgaard era
Lockyer left on a free before TS arrived. I believe Phillips was also sold before he got here. Bonne was sold by TS after SG and LB told him it was too good of an offer to turn down.

You could argue its heading in the same direction based on that, but, really it's a silly argument.
Not only has Roland had far more windows to operate in there wasn't the COVID factor, and even if you disregard that, without knowing what the undisclosed fees are, you just can't compare.
If anything it just shows typical transfer activity. I'm sure if you posted any other club to a similar stature to ours it'll read the same. Players leaving on frees, decent talent sold and a whole bunch of undisclosed.

Only Lockyer, as at that stage we were in a one out, one in situation, and used the squad space to bring in Levitt It's curious that under ESI we never sold anyone, despite being broke all summer.
Under Thomas we brought in a few decent fees, for Phillips, Bonne, Doughty plus the Karlan sell on fee which would have helped to offset the losses

I liked Lockyer a lot but defence definitely ain't a problem right now. Attackers!!!

I'd have Lockyer back in a flash, and he'd be too good for this league definitely. That said, I don't think he'd step down to L1 again, it'd be big wages for us too and currently Innis + Famewo are our main pairing CBs, I don't think we'd want to spunk big wages on Lockyer as a back-up CB (I know Inniss will inevitably get injured)
