Looks to me that it’s London that seems to attract these sorts of people nowadays don’t matter what type of vehicle they go about on.
I see 3 people got shot again over the weekend.
Not a safe place nowadays I’m afraid to say.
That just isn't true though is it. Just one of those lines that gets thrown around, despite the fact that millions go about their daily life in London without issue, and almost exclusively said by people that don't live in London.

I feel fortunate to be a Londoner and to live here.

'It seems to be getting a bit out of control': E-bike and e-scooter crimes soar 730% in five years

Just ban them and make it illegal to sell them. I don’t know any normal person that owns or rides one. The only people that seem drawn to them are kids, criminals, drug dealers and wankers.

Nonsense being peddled out it’s the people’s actions riding the bikes not the bikes.
This in my opinion is one of the biggest opportunities being missed to help climate control.
More than the bullshit trying to stop cows farting.
The amount of people commuting with 4 empty seats in there car.
If they got on a bike it would un clog the roads they would also benefit financially save time on their commute and become healthier.
Why is it you don’t seem to see kids riding to school anymore.
If we could get kids to ride to school how much would the roads unclog morning and afternoon on the school run.
I can understand why the government don’t won’t to promote bikes because of all the money they would lose on Taxes.
But I can’t understand the general hate for bikes when they can do so much more for the environment than electric cars.
Even the car manufacturers don’t want to make the electric cars As seen with Vauxhall in Luton.

Surely the point about e-scooters is there is no pedalling 😉😉😆

The e-bikes are a great idea but dumping them anywhere is not.
Anybody figured out how they get charged if left randomly about and how a rider can tell if there is enough electricity inside the bicycle?
    And punctures?
They're dumped everywhere- massive issue on pavements for those with mobility or sight issues. The hire companies don't give a toss and are not held accountable.

Simply ignoring the problems with ebikes and scooters is not the answer. The only answer I hear is 'they're less bad than cars' implying that we should simply ignore any issues.

Lazy government and no joined up transport policy.
City of London enforcement officers were outside our office the other week taking photos and writing reports RE electric bikes being dumped all over the pavement.
They are apparently starting to fine the companies that own them.

Yeah but they say it on GB News and in the Daily Mail so it must be true.

There are vey few cows in London and I have it on reliable evidence from experts that London-based cows don't fart or use guns.

I agree about the government not wanting to promote bikes and lose taxes.  That's Labour all over though isn't it, big gas guzzling oligarchs.

Sadiq Khan appears to get more criticism and hatred than Andy Burnham.
Sometimes I wonder why, what is the significant difference between those two Mayors?

Even by your standards this is poor form implying it is because he is brown and/ or Muslim.

It's a London forum so he'll get more criticism than the mayor of Manchester as his policy will directly affect those who live and work in London.

Really poor to imply that criticism is based on racial lines. It will be for some but given he gets voted in it's obviously not the case for the vast majority.

You demonstrate a lot of class based prejudice towards the likes of Johnson and Methven etc whereas most critics base it on their characters and actions so very rich for you to snootily cast aspersions on other people's assumed prejudice.

Don't normally dive in on your posts Seth but sorry mate think that's out of order.

    ‘Sometimes I wonder’,
    As in sometimes.
I am reassured that criticism of Khan has absolutely nothing to do with his ethnicity or colour according to many voices here.
I notice that Burnham was on Kunessberg on Sunday and recently on Question time. Indeed other mayors have also been on such programmes.
Anybody know if Sadiq Khan has ever been invited on those programmes?

He regularly attends James OBriens show on LBC but refuses to join Nick Ferrari's according to Ferrari.

I'd be very surprised if the BBC of all organisations were discriminating against him on racial or religious lines.

Here's a starter based on a very quick search - he would probably have been on a lot more, but we know how the BBC discriminates against non-whites, the capitalist bastards.

Racism unfortunately still exists and has to be challenged whenever it appears.
What is not helpful though is people trying to shoehorn Racism into a  conversation where it does not exist.
There's plenty of reason why a lot of people do not like the current Mayor of London and it's almost entirely due to his politics.

If I shoehorned racism in it must have been very subtle then.
I posed a question and some others have assumed it must be about race.
Absolutely nobody anywhere ever has been critical of Sadiq Khan because of his ethnicity.

You may or may not be correct about posters on CL not attacking him because of his ethnicity. That is certainly not the case in the wider world however.

Absolutely nobody anywhere ever has been critical of Sadiq Khan because of his ethnicity.

It was obvious that was what was being implied.

And of course people have been critical of Khan based on/ influenced by his ethnicity in the same way many are critical of others based on other prejudice such as class and educational privilege....no one has denied that but your implication is that Andy Burnham gets treated with more leniency because of obvious distinguishable characteristics is passive aggressive nonsense if you're now pretending this wasn't what you were implying.

Not everyone or everything is racist and I'd argue the vast majority in this country are  not  whilst racists do still exist of course.

Constant victim mentality you have when you deliberately stoke the fire with these sort of comments then play the innocent victim when challenged or called out on it.

Please for your own sake Seth sort this out as it's unhealthy.

    Unsurprisingly I disagree with you.
Leaving aside the Khan/Burnham aspect of things just for a moment, I believe it is not unhealthy but healthy to be woke to any racism.
I am afraid I do not believe as you do that it is the ‘vast majority’ who are not racist.
I think it is a dangerous minority.
