I’ve stopped walking on the tow path along Regent’s canal due to the number of cyclists. Its okay when the cyclist are coming towards but as you can’t hear cyclists, its always a shocker when they come from behind (oooahh matron). 🤓0

Melbourne have now banned them.0

I've come to the conclusion that it would be safer for a driver to drive a car on the pavement as that way there would be a greatly reduced risk of the driver being injured in collisions with other cars and HGVs, etc. I mean, fuck the other pavement users - right? If you kid was going to ride his bike would you say make sure you ride on the road. How come we’ve got all these old train lines routes where cyclist and walkers use together if it’s so dangerous. This means that, whilst police officers can theoretically stop young children (aged under 10) who are cycling on pavements, they have no powers to arrest, fine or even caution them.”

You're welcome. That’s faster than most e-bikes crazy I might get rid of me car and get one of these to commute
do you have to pay road taxVehicle tax, registration and insurance
Mobility scooters and powered wheelchairs in ‘class 3’ or not in a class must be registered with DVLA.
You do not need to pay vehicle tax if your vehicle is registered with DVLA as a mobility scooter or powered wheelchair.
You may also need to insure your mobility scooter or powered wheelchair, depending on its weight.

because bike riders are breaking the law, disabled people are not.How is that not obvious2

WOW. What a thread, what a read. Thank for all the participation folks, who knew e-scooters would create such strong visceral reactions5

Dave’s already said cyclists should be chucked under buses
Been too busy today to play unfortunately!
Get it right ffs, I actually said the ones using the pavement should kicked in front of busses

I don't dislike cyclists, just I dislike having to make way for cyclists when I am walking along the pavement.
If a cyclist came across an adult walking a couple of toddlers along the pavement whilst holding their hands, wouldn't a cyclist wait rather than force the adult to wrangle the toddlers out of the way? They may also have a dog on a lead.0 - Sponsored links:

Really can’t understand some people what do you want stu everybody that has rode on a pavement locked up I think you’d find there wouldn’t be many people free. And no, I don’t think people should be locked up, but fined absolutely1 -
Showmetheway2gohome said:Nice of you to show up Dave knob head I owed you one. So all kids riding there bikes on pavements should be kicked under a bus.according to Dave
nice one.
“Any adult cyclist or scooter rider that goes on the pavement should be kicked in front of a bus, the pavement is for pedestrians.”

Can you please show me where I said that it should be a police priority?
Continually making stuff up isn’t a good look.2 -

I would suggest if adult cyclists had any Respect for walkers they would not cycle on the pavement.7 -

Didn't realise Jeremy Vine was an addick.1

Cyclists are about level pegging with nonce's on people I'd like the police to nick most list. Especially the ones who go out on a Sunday and ride 3 a breast down country lanes. The death penalty needs reintroducing for those reprobates.3

Surprised that runners haven't been mentioned yet as pavement undesirables.
Runners, imo, top trump cyclists as self entitled cnuts in the hierarchy of selfish pavement users. Go to any Park Run on a Saturday to watch hundreds of the b'stards mowing down young children out riding their small bikes. What gives them the right to take over these public spaces? And without paying towards the upkeep of the park.

I think runners are probably acceptable. I say that as a pavement using pedestrian who sometimes has to try to run for a bus.0

You are a very strange person.4
-
I'd ban cyclists from velodromes if I had my way1
-
I'd have an amnesty for everyone to hand their bikes and scooters in, over the course of about 3 hours, then anyone caught on, or in possession of, one, would get twenty lashes with a punctured inner tube.6

Showmetheway2gohome said:I know all them Olympic cyclists that won medals want shooting
30 cyclists need to complete 5 laps of the track whilst the competitor stands on platform at one end with a shooter and tries to pick them off. It combines cycling and shooting, so win-win.
And as there are always so many cycling events and chances to win medals I spose there needs to be different categories - like the small bore pistol event, the musket event, the shotgun event, the Uzi event, etc.
Don't worry about where the cyclists will come from, @Gribbo is in charge of rounding them up for us.1 -
