Talking about dissent at umpires, a good few years ago a former CL poster who now owns a micro pub, once borrowed my son's bat and stormed the pitch at Canterbury when the game was abandoned against Warwickshire due to one floodlight failing He wanted to remonstrate at the Umpires' decision and to prove that the light was perfectly OK. To be fair, he did face a ball from one of the Warwickshire players without any protection whatsoever and hit it for four too.
Playing in the Warwickshire side that night was 6' 8'' fast bowler Boyd Rankin. Fortunately, it wasn't him that bowled that ball. It was a Laurie Evans grenade. We were quite worried when he got escorted off the ground by the stewards more so because we feared that my son might not see his bat again!

With three overs left in the innings and eight wickets in hand I suppose Slurrey must be targeting a score in excess of 145 ...
