Going forward, for the balance of the side we need to leave Kuhn out and bring in a bowler. If a batting line up of Crawley, DBD, Denly, Billings, Leaning and Blake helped by a few lusty blows from the likes of Stewart and Milnes isn't good enough to get us a total then we don't deserve to win. If we play O'Riordan anyway then he gives us another all rounder option.

Definitely agree re Kuhn.
Not been the same since his baby was due and then born....

Been out all day so didnt watch it but it seems like a fairly comfortable win for Surrey. And that's missing Amla, Pope, Foakes, Batty, Atkinson, Sam, Tom, Dernbach and Morkel who would all definitely be in the side if available. I actually think that's done us a favour this year, and not just because Dernbach's captaincy is nothing like that of Batty or Burns who have done it in his absence. But more because without some big names we have had to learn to bowl as a unit and so have become extremely good at restricting sides. Moriarty has been the find of the summer in all formats.
Good that Jason Roy has found form. Him and Jack's will make a formidable opening partnership with Amla and Evans to follow and Foakes with Smith/Burns (who has been surprisingly good in this format this year) to finish. Overton and Atkinson as the allrounders. The spin twins of Batty and Moriarty and the left arm of Topley. Serious team if Plunkett cant get in.
So it is a repeat of today's match for the quarters. The strongest qualifying team at home against the weakest. Looking forward to it.

Shame you missed the game. Our second eleven did pretty well
Absolutely phenomenal choke from KXIP in the IPL as well. They needed 1 off 3 with wickets in hand! 1! And they went miss, caught, caught! Not even getting bat on it and running!
Northamptonshire booked their place in the Vitality Blast quarter-finals with a stunning three-wicket victory over Birmingham Bears at Edgbaston.
A wildly fluctuating match went the Steelbacks' way in the closing stages as Tom Taylor (50 not out) and Graeme White (37no) saw them collect an unlikely 73 runs from the last six overs.
The Bears totalled a hefty 191-5, having been rescued from 20-4 by a fifth-wicket stand of 171 from 99 balls between Adam Hose and 19-year-old Dan Mousley.
Hose blasted his maiden T20 century, scoring 119 from 64 balls - including seven sixes and nine fours). Mousley struck a T20-best unbeaten 58 from 44 balls, including a six and five fours.
The Steelbacks' reply hit trouble at 28-3 and 71-6 but Taylor, making his debut after moving from Leicestershire, and White hit cleanly to see their side home with seven balls to spare - and enable the Foxes to earn a last-eight spot at Birmingham's expense. Birmingham vs Northants scorecard
Much attention has been given to 44 year old Stevens but in Cox (19), Qadri (19), Gilchrist (20), Robinson (21), Crawley (22), O'Riordan (22), Leaning (26), Podmore (26), Milnes (26), Stewart (26), DBD (27), Qayyum (27), Klaassen (27) and Billings (29) we have 14 players the right side of 30 - albeit that one or two will be the subject of international calls.
Just completed the on line survey for attending the game against Doncaster last Saturday. The survey asks you to confirm which event you attended and the drop down lists about 20 different football matches. Plus the T20 quarter finals and finals day. Assume that fans were going to be allowed in to both until yesterday's announcement
