Injuries and illnesses cost us.
But Roland's gone!

With a goal on the last kick, 3-1 flatters them. We held our own and the players should be proud.

Can't wait for us to never have to play the kids again.0

Immense from the lads today. Penalty looked iffy today, was hoping we could hang on for a point. Can we get some loans in?3
-
Really cannot ask the players for any more than they are giving us.
The sooner this shit run of injuries is behind us the better. It’s depressing.29 -
Few teams could cope with this type of injury crisis, especially when we were a division lower just a few months ago.
Onwards and upwards ... new Chairman was there, he now knows we need players from his chats with Gallen, crowd were impressive despite losing.
I remain positive.10 -
I have never heard of James Vennings so yeah, not really a result you can expect much else from. Just wish we were having these injury issues against teams we should lose to anyway as the last 3 games have all been winnable against average opposition who are getting away with murder with the teams we're having to put out.
Has Doughty ever played left back before? Great performance by him considering.19 -
Hope no Charlton fan criticizes the team today, was a good performance from such a young group of players31

Referee was more bloody interested in himself than any of the players out there!!18 -

Sarr got his act together second half and the defending was better, great save from Dillon at one point. Midfield was where we lost this, couldn’t put our foot on the ball, lack of composure when we did have the ball and almost zero service for the front men in the second half. We just shaded the first half, I don’t know what happened at half time but they were all over us from the off. Morgan may have been another of the ill players which explains his off colour performance. Doughty did well, Bonne and Leko worked their socks off, and now Lockyer misses the next game through suspension.2

What’s the point? The number of injuries we have mean that we're competitive in games but it will take a miracle for us to win them and we’re living like that every week at the moment. We tried. Leko ran his socks off, Pratley worked hard and Matthews was very good. There was no creative spark though, which Oztumer has to take some blame for, and you could really tell that we had a left mid at LB, a centre half at holding midfield and a 600 year old holding midfielder trying to go box to box. The most amazing thing is we scored at all. Hopefully we’ll get some players back soon and then we can bring in reinforcements in January assuming the new ownership are willing to spend.9

Very disappointed at some of the disparaging comments on the match thread, which I've just read through. what do some people expect with the side we had out today?
10 -
In the nicest possible way, the players we had out there clearly aren't good enough for the Championship. But they're only in the position because of our injury crisis.
We're going to lose every single game until we get a significant number of our injured players back, because these guys aren't going to be able to battle against other teams without looking a step or two below.6 -
Met our new chairman in xbars before the game and he believes approval from the EFL should happen soon.
He got a standing ovation as he stopped for photos and a chat on his way through.
As for the game itself we really are down to the bare bones so not an unexpected result.
They all tried hard and that's all you can ask.
Anyway Roland is history and our future looks bright.

I thought Oshilaja played well.

The fact this is our E team bodes well. Weeks rest hopefully we might get Taylor back. Doughty looks a real prospect.
Am I right in saying that Roland's first and last game was against Sheff Wed?1 -
Gutted, and we’re in a hell of a rut, however....
Can’t help but just be so so proud of the boys. To a man you feel they’re bleeding the shirt and busting a gut - doing their best to defy the odds.
It’s a far cry from the shit served up last time we were in this division.
Love it, proper Charlton.

Taylor, William's and Gallagher supposed to be back for 7th. Pick up a few points over xmas and make a push for the play offs after a few new bodies arrive through the door in Jan. The league is tight af, another run will see us right amongst it again.

Phillips is blossoming into a sensational keeper and Doughty, the Bromley legend, is absolutely class.25

At the game
Bloody freezing second half.
3-1 flattered them
Leko back to his normal 5/10 performance.
We need two forward players with footballing brains. So many balls lost as Leko wasn't there to run onto Bonne's flicks.2 -
From my living room we were on the back foot all day. We did well to limit their chances, but we didn’t really create anything going forward. We had some pressure at times, but it didn’t turn into a chance, apart from the goal.
Didn’t expect much from the game once I saw the lineup. Players tried hard, but the lack of quality in midfield was too much to overcome. Pratley would be my MoM. Leko put in a shift, but no end product, and turned the ball over to easily sometimes. Nobody really disappointed, although Nabys first half was bad, much better in the second.
Need to get some players back soon.3 -
Can’t really fault the effort. I actually think Sheff Wed are pretty poor. It’s frustrating because a team with Taylor, Williams, Cullen and Gallagher would have rolled them over today.
Doughty was the pick of our players. That’s about it really. The highlight of home games at the moment is the bellend who sits in front of me. Previously he has referred to Leko as Jérémy Lenko. Today we had Jason Jennings (Vennings) and Alfie Doffty (Doughty).6 -
The scoreline flattered them, it was even until the penalty. Wednesday arent that good but I wonder if were going to even pick up points from the next games

Silly mistakes from the more experienced players cost us.1
-
Great effort by the lads today, but the stupid booking of Lockyer for the late non-foul is needless.
Ref favoured Wednesday at every possibility opportunity, including letting Hutchinson off a 2nd booking.
The injury situation is impossible.9 -

Can't stand the Sarr dislike. Thought bar the first goal, he had a decent game.
Certainly not below a 6.
If I'm being really honest, think the kids (bar Doughty) aren't ready yet, why would they be? Think Bowyer's gone too defensive since the injuries which invites too much pressure. Not sure how things will improve in the middle of the park.
Happy Vennings got a run out. Happy Doughty is doing well, disappointed Morgan can't read the game too well but he puts in a shift.
