Very surprised we didn't make a permanent signing, along with ownership of the ground and training ground I'm a bit uneasy as to what ESI are really about
Was loving the tweets earlier when I thought they were going to walk the walk ,but to hint at "super dupa" signings and the like and to come out with "meh"-to-"not bad" loans looks silly. Would have had the view of "fair play, we've kept Taylor, a few loans to tide us over and keep us up, let's see what happens in the summer" before the mouthing off, now I'm coming out of the window disappointed.
If you take off the rose tinted glasses of new owners that’s an awful window. Highly doubt it’d be an awful lot different under Roland. Southall looks incredibly stupid.
Think yourselves lucky that MS had his "mega deal phone" with him as he said on Twater ,fuc k knows who we have ended up with if he had his normal phone.
I dont think we are a stronger squad after that!! I really really obviously hope we stay up but after that transfer window I'm proper worried!!!
Gallagher and Leko left. Kayal and Ledley played less than 300 minutes between them.
We've signed Green, McGeady, Davis and Smith. Of course it's a stronger squad.
People are also overlooking the fact that before all the injuries we were a decent side in the top half of the table and now we have most of those players back. It's not as if we were a struggling side that needed a lot of improvements, we already had a decent squad.
Considering some of the stupid offers being touted this window eg. Toney for 10m and loaned back for remainder of season, I think Gallen/Bowyer/Southall have done a decent job.
They've replaced those we’ve lost, and turned down any offer that came in for Taylor.
Current players seem to be returning from injury weekly now.
A stronger midfield for remainder of the season will certainly help our defence out and stop us conceding once or twice a game.
Look like we have plenty of creativity and strength in the midfield now.
If - and of course it’s a big if - we can get Bonne and Taylor on the pitch at the same time for majority of remaining games, I don’t see us finishing in that bottom 3.
Good transfer window, but spoiled by MS, who hyped and raised hopes when he didn't have to. (Dick)
Taking it all far too serious mate no?Insulting an engaging new chairman?! Good window. Bowyer now has a fuller squad to manage, and options as players get back to fitness. We have a good set of players that can take on any team in this league when they are fit. Some people on here seem to want to replace the lot of them! How naive. Awaiting any late late shock news but Taylor staying is not to be under- appreciated too. Really, what is not to like? Looking forward to tomorrow.
Fairly underwhelmed after the hype of this morning to not make any permanent signings, and nothing up top. I worry whether we have replaced the goals that Gallagher and Leko provided, and that we are really dependant on Lyle staying fit, especially if we go to 4231 or 433
Can't help thinking that all 3 of the loan signings we made today were ones which could have gone through sooner if they were targets we especially wanted, as NONE of them were first team regulars

I’d say losing Taylor, Phillips, Doughty and possibly Bowyer would be an awful lot different. And that’s how it would have looked under Roland today.
Don't mind admitting I was suckered in to thinking there was gonna be at least one show stopper signing, but as has been explained by others, January isn't generally when the big deals happen. Reckon MS should maybe wind it in a little bit and can see him getting a couple comments at the game tomorrow. He'll learn...
On reflexion though, Bowyer etc have signed, 3 new bodies have come in, LT hasn't gone and RD has.
I'm not convinced that any of us know what any of threse 4 signings are capable of with the possible exception of McGeady, even less when they play together and in a team with the likes of Taylor and Williams, Field and Cullen.
I look forward to some good partnerships forming there.
We aren't going to get promoted this season but now I really don't think we are going to be relegated and we could be in for some entertaining football.

I think McGeady will chip in with goals as much as Gallagher. Green has opened his account and needs to be at least as effective as Leko. With Williams and McGeady in the team we will make chances. Keeping Lyle and getting Bonne fit ought to be just enough to keep us up.
Comments
Lets just remember they’ve spent absolutely zero on players.
Southall is a bit of a worry in my eyes. Bit of a car salesman?
Cullen | Smith | Davis | Green | McGeady | Field
Of course it'll depend on who is available, who the opposition is etc.
Taylor can still sign for Rangers in the next 50 minutes

Phillips
Matthews/Solly Pearce/Deji Lockyer/Sarr Purrington
Cullen/Smith Davis/Pratley
Green Williams/Oztumer/Aneke Doughty/McGeady
Taylor/Bonne/Hemed
Just that right hand side without the cover. Who players there if no Green. Williams I guess?

My only frustration is that we haven't signed the striker I feel we really need to make sure we dont go down

And that will do me.
