    What was all the buzz about Matt Southall, all the tweets all the excitement for a few loans no new strikers and no money spent I’m actually shocked and very disappointed I thought this window was going to be different.

    David Davis? Well, he was a shit prospect on Football Manager 2011 so I hate it. 

    That said, FM11 is about as up to date as my football knowledge, so take this with a pinch of salt

    We have been linked with Davis in the past. He is a good signing. I would guess this is a loan with a view to a perm.

    Yeh, i think it was Matt's super duper deal and marquee signing comments.   If he hadn't said that we be all like "4 signings in this window!  yay!  Kept hold of Taylor and Doughty!  Yay!  Good old Matt, safe pair of hands, common sense approach etc".

    Amazes me that people are worried that we might have 6 players on loan so won't be able to play them all. Having all of them fit would be a miracle in itself!!!

    I’ve been flitting in and out of this thread but I’m sure GJ is implying he’s a wally for bigging our transfer action up when the reality is it’s been as dull as ditchwater and the players have come from Bowyers B&C list of players .
    Not to say they won’t keep us up but they prolly won’t be needed if we have luck with our players fitness .

    Any chance of Lyle signing an extension as the marquee announcement. He and LB were ESI's initial stated targets. I know it's highly wishful but I have 5 mins still to dream.

    Baffled by signing Davis and Smith, but no forward. 

    If we play 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 we'll need 2 or 3 midfielders out of Cullen, Pratley, Field, Davis, Smith even before we get to Lapslie.

    If we keep Lyle it's a good window , it's all about getting players in to keep us up. Then the serious business starts in the summer.

    Anyway, depth through the squad now, with Chuks fit and Bonne close; that’s 4 strikers, 2 proper creators in Williams and McGeady, cover for Cullen, pace in Green, and Lyle staying.

    looks a more rounded squad

    I like Davis, good energetic midfielder. A little disappointed if we don’t get a striker in though.
