Yeh, i think it was Matt's super duper deal and marquee signing comments. If he hadn't said that we be all like "4 signings in this window! yay! Kept hold of Taylor and Doughty! Yay! Good old Matt, safe pair of hands, common sense approach etc".
Amazes me that people are worried that we might have 6 players on loan so won't be able to play them all. Having all of them fit would be a miracle in itself!!!
I’ve been flitting in and out of this thread but I’m sure GJ is implying he’s a wally for bigging our transfer action up when the reality is it’s been as dull as ditchwater and the players have come from Bowyers B&C list of players . Not to say they won’t keep us up but they prolly won’t be needed if we have luck with our players fitness . Im very happy with McGeady

Any chance of Lyle signing an extension as the marquee announcement. He and LB were ESI's initial stated targets. I know it's highly wishful but I have 5 mins still to dream.
Anyway, depth through the squad now, with Chuks fit and Bonne close; that’s 4 strikers, 2 proper creators in Williams and McGeady, cover for Cullen, pace in Green, and Lyle staying.
I think 4 talented players in to allow some rotation for the rest of the season, and to bring on something different as subs is actually pretty good. And pretty good is pretty good in Charlton world...
Good player David Davis. Energetic, strong and a real bastard to get past for attackers. He'll be a decent rotation option with Pratley meaning we could maybe push Field up the pitch a bit once he's back. I think Bowyer is trying to make sure we never have a midfield crisis like we had again so he's not relying on players coming back from long term injuries going straight in, which is sensible. It also takes the pressure off these players knowing they have to get back in asap or we're screwed
