Is the game on Sky Red Button? I am actually going but would like to record it, however looking on Sky programs for tomorrow evening there are no Championship game listed, so I assume it’s a no, though someone on another thread said they will be watching it on Red Button. I think they are mistaken.
I looked like you and don't think it is on Red Button. Have therefore decided to go and suffer the nightmare rush hour trip around the M25 and up the A2, but not anticipating we will get much out of this one. But, you never know

I was the one advising it wouldnt be on the TV but seems SKY put egg on my face by making it available on the red button
If you leave it on Sky Sports Football you'll get to "enjoy" Kilmarnock v Celtic
Just sign a player A bloody football player I just dont think you understand We're down to the ground Time to spend a pound I just don't think you understand

Not claiming to be ITK here but my friend who texted me saying Bowyer did not know about RD statement in the summer and was going to stay has just texted me and said we have bid around 1m for the Bristol Rovers striker Clarke-Harris
Can't wait for the pelters if it does not come off.
No, don't believe it, they're skint remember because Charlton Life said so.
That or they don't want to overpay average players.
Ask yourself why we are having to target average players

Because in Jan many clubs want to keep their good players or sell them for way over their value?

If you are a promotion chasing team, why are you going to sell your best player and potentially ruin that chance. Even if the team buying that player pay over the odds there is no guarantee you will find a suitable replacement.
If you are in a relegation battle why are you going to sell your best player and potentially ruin any chance of survival. Even if the team buying that player pay over the odds there is no guarantee you will find a suitable replacement.

So we target average players? Do you really believe B&G had a conversation where they decided not to target the best they could get with the money they have, and just said let's do average then
There's good players not playing all over the place.

I think the issue with many fans is they never look at the wider context of football transfers. I believe there is lots more to consider when buying players then whether they are 'average', 'good' etc.
When we have our full team back, and fit, I honestly struggle to see who can bring in this window who would be a guaranteed first team player for us in the long term. As an example does anyone see Armannd Gnandulliet as a long term investment for the squad, is he going to be the striker to take us to the next level? If we got him in now, would his arrival guarantee us not getting relegated. If you don't think that then all of a sudden having to pay an larger fee and an extra 1k a week for him, to potentially be a 3rd or 4th striker does not make sense. Especially when we want to bring other players in and his wage is the basis they go off.

Eh? The original comment you chose to argue was that we don't want to overpay average players.
We aren't JUST targeting 'average players', thats why the better ones are proving harder to get as its the January transfer window tand we are only half way through it.
You seem to be pushing this 'I know we aren't as rich as everyone else thinks' thing and nobody is arguing with you. We aren't mega rich, but I'm sure we have the budget to buy players like the kid from Blackpool, we just don't want to be taken the piss out of.

Competitive squad. Not the managers type of player. Fallen out of favour. Needs a run of games. Out of form. Doesn't fit in. Family hasn't settled in the area. Fans got on their back. Not being played to their strengths. Was played out of position. Doesn't fit the managers strategy. No place in the current formation. Being kept out of side by even better player. Generally undervalued.

Not entirely true, I used to play a minor sport at International level, I won't say what because I'd prefer to keep my anonymity, anyway at one point I was the 2nd best player in the country, our team had players from all nationalities etc but I got frozen out the team because of political reasons. To put that back into a footballing perspective, some players don't suit certain styles and some fall out with their managers, it isn't always that they aren't as good.

Bit like KAG?
Out of Contract in the summer which is the exact sort of player we're currently after - Only the players we're after dont have Roland as an owner!!
Take ESI and their stubborness with letting Taylor leave this month (Unless its a silly offer) and thats the sort of owners we're having to deal with

Off the top of my head.
Where did Yann come from?
I absolutely agree with both these points here, and this is fundamentally why, if I owned a football club at our level I would want to stick to a method and a budget. Players who do not do well at some clubs do well at others, and players who are great at some clubs move and then are poor.
Of course there is always a risk involved in anything in life, especially football transfers, but in my opinion as player performance is hardly ever guaranteed you still need to try and be as sensible as possible with your money.

Well I would guess that between the other London clubs their are 20 players with no chance of playing for their first teams this season who would get a game in our current team.
