It will be. Getting excited already.

Lyle Taylor had never played higher then the middle of League 1 when he signed for us, if Doherty is deemed good enough by Gallen and Bowyer, then I'll take their judgement over someone who's looking at a wikipedia profile of a player
Taylor signed for us also in league one and grew with us.

I'm not saying Docherty can't be a decent player in time, but we don't have time. We need a player who can walk into our side now and he hasn't played a first team game for 5 months.

I hope i'm proved wrong (if he signs of course).
How do you know Docherty can't/won't do that? Based on what exactly
I don't know, it's just my opinion. Same as you don't know he'll be any good.

My opinion is that a guy who can't get in the Rangers side and hasn't played competitive football for 5 months isn't the answer right now. He's never played at this level and it might take him weeks to get up to speed. Like i said, i hope i'm wrong and quite naturally i trust Gallen and if he feels he's the answer then i'm happy to see how it goes.
  • I’ve got a feeling (could be wind) that today is the day.

2 loan signings and a permanent incoming.

Even though Bowyer hasn’t signed a contract yet?

My thought process tells me he will sign it and he’s telling players that. There’s no need to panic in my opinion.

  • Unlikely to see anything today then .

  • This really is torture!
  • Question - Did Cawley know anything about Green prior to the announcement from the club?
  • Question - Did Cawley know anything about Green prior to the announcement from the club?
Yeah he did, certainly getting a bit frustrating especially when you hear things like deals pending.
  • How often is Cawley left in the dark? Not very often from what I remember. I'll be turning their notifications off
  • Realistically we're not going to get anything over the line until toward the end of the window. It's frustrating but better than being mugged off on price.

He reported a loan deal would be done tomorrow morning on 01/01 and Green signed on 02/01.
  • I hope for Bow’s sake that he gets at least one better than we have fully fit midfielder in before midday’s deadline, but gut says he won’t and we will be left hoping that we can keep it super tight against Fulham until the 60th minute - cue Jonny, Josh and Lyle...

That’s that for today then, we should have been getting them in for cameos/1st starts Vs Preston/Fulham then all systems go for judgement month of February, instead we are dragging our heals again, not good at all this.

Dont forget that Cawley in the past has mentioned / claimed his contact is Bowyer himself when he gets this information

  • There's a chance Bowyer himself is holding up deals. He said players want to know he's signed a new contract. But he's still holding out on signing it.
  • Bowyer said it was his contract situation holding up signings ----- still not done
Bowyer said he wanted PLAYERS in before the Fulham game ----- nothing

Hey apparently we will be fine AFTER the Fulham game and anybody concerned about the above or ESI's lack of dosh (possibly) or 5points out of 48 is a bed weter?

If like to say than fec k Rolands gone but he hasn't he still owns The Valley ,he still owns Sparrows Lane. At the moment I see no change at all
What you have observed is what is known as the uncomfortable truth.

I think they spent all of their money on the PR budget.

Why have they got a lack of dosh? We know they are making offers for players but teams are moving the goal post at the last minute (Blackpool being one example).

We’ve offered cash for Maddison and a wage which their chairman and manager have stated as good, but the player obviously doesn’t want to come here. How is that esi’s fault or how does that suggest a lack of funds?

Ive never bought a footballer, assuming 99.9% of people on here haven’t either. I’m guessing it takes time, say it’s 1 working week. If we spent a week on Maddison and he turned us down and the process starts again, that’s 2 weeks gone of a 4 week window.

I know  it’s frustrating that nobody has signed yet but people turning on esi after 3 weeks and stating they have no money without proof is just ridiculous.

The proof is this: We turned down a player for an extra 1k a week. We haven't signed anyone but a loan player. The chairman, owner and our manager have said numerous times that the squad will be built slowly by promoting youth and buying from lower leagues (if you have money, is that your strategy?) Contract negotiations are dragging on and on and on.

What proof is there we have money? Only that we bid for Maddison? He's got 6 months left on his contract and he's definitely not staying there. I doubt it took a lot.
