I take it that's the same tune as the BFG one, in which case its an insult to use it. I'd rather charlton fans use the embarassing Agadoo tune I think somebody had previously suggested and start mum dancing along to it before using a tune that we already use for another player in the team. One song, we've only got one song...bazjonster said:

But plaudits must be reserved for our 2nd Addick in a week to mark his debut with a goal. Young George Lapslie lit up the night on Tuesday ; today it was the turn of Joe Dodoo who duly saluted the away fans as we celebrated. Young Will is due to accompany his Grandad next Saturday & I just KNOW he'll be dying to join in the latest chant.....

I fell asleep at 2 nil up, when I woke up it was 4-3 , what on earth was going on here?3

Just noticed on KR's post match interview on Valley Pass, that on 6:02, you can hear someone shout (in an empty stadium) w*****, then again, but louder at 6:05, KR turns around and looks, then a bit of editing and the video jumps a few seconds. Don't know if it got heated inbetween the editing.1

It was Ricky Holmes trying to attract KR's attention:-)DA9 said:Just noticed on KR's post match interview on Valley Pass, that on 6:02, you can hear someone shout (in an empty stadium) w*****, then again but louder at 6:05' KR turns around and looks, then a bit of editing and the video jumps a few seconds. No I haven't seen the fouls which he gave the cards for. And I am not doubting that Oldham were being overly aggressive and some of them warranted a caution. But as a referee it's about authority as much as control, and there is no reason why any referee produces 22 yellow cards in his last 2 games, it displays a clear lack of control and further education on the laws of the game as well as managing the game properly would be best here.AddicksAddict said:
@Sage Have you looked at the fouls for which he gave cards and determined that any of the cards were unwarranted?Sage said:Never should've been that difficult after cruising at 2-0 but this is Charlton all over. A win is a win so well done to all.
Goals coming from all over the team again which is promising, and our front 4 seems to be very strong, even better when we have Magennis, Reeves and Marshall to come. When was the last time we scored 4 goals twice in such a short space of time? Early days but we look strong in attack.
Looking forward to seeing Holmes' stunner. Winning momentum continues and that's very important.
Referee seems to have his own idea on the laws of football as that's a total of 22 yellow cards in the last two games he has officiated. Every 2.4 fouls today, there was a card, seems like he needs some more education on the laws and how to manage and officiate the game effectively, and this is coming from a qualified referee.
Most importantly, we won and a massive well done to the traveling fans and the people who contributed to the updates on the match thread today.
Happy days, great stuff!5 -

If we don't utilise this as a song for big Joe then it's just a failing on our part.letthegoodtimesroll said:

I have to say from the highlights I can't really tell what happened for the guys' second yellow - the reaction of the oldham players makes me think there wasn't a lot in it.
I wasn't there and only seen the one angle so was it worse than it looks there?0 -

The ball hit solly in the face no doubt it hurt but there was no yellow there the ref was shit total panic Job but it's the the 3rd division we get shit refs0

Yep, looked a poor yellow that0

3 Oldham fans, who look well hydrated coming out of a hospitality box, gave Karl a bit of stick from a distance.DA9 said:Just noticed on KR's post match interview on Valley Pass, that on 6:02, you can hear someone shout (in an empty stadium) w*****, then again, but louder at 6:05, KR turns around and looks, then a bit of editing and the video jumps a few seconds. KR was slightly distracted and expressed his annoyance (to us, not to them who he ignored) at being shouted at during the interview. Then we carried on.2 -
If you look closely you can see the guys studs going down on sollys ankle....did it warrant a red? Maybe.4

I thought the guy gets a touch on the ball then makes contact with Solly's foot/ankle, years ago a great tackle nowadays who knows.nth london addick said:The ball hit solly in the face no doubt it hurt but there was no yellow there the ref was shit total panic Job but it's the the 3rd division we get shit refs

A few thoughts from yesterday.
I thought for the first 30 minutes we were as dominant as I've ever seen us away from home. It reminded me of the first 30 minutes at home against Derby County in the 13/14 season.
I thought Kashi, Bauer, Fosu and Holmes were particularly excellent. Kashi was a constant pain in the rear end for Oldham and kept nicking the ball off their players' feet. He is also also available in space which is a sign of a good player. Bauer was dominant in the air at the back. Fosu was a real creative outlet and Holmes did his usual terrifying of defenders by just running at them.
This really was a case of goals changing games. After we went 2-0 up, it looked like we'd win 5-0. The penalty came out of nowhere and I'm still not sure why it was given. Oldham suddenly had a lifeline out of nowhere and became the dominant side up until half time. This continued into the 2nd half when they equalised. I wasn't feeling too confident at this point.
I wasn't sure if the sending off was a sending off, but I thought the ref would give a 2nd yellow as he was punishing every instance of physical contact between players. Solly isn't a player to feign injury, however. The game immediately swung back in our favour and I thought we did well to instantly capitalise on the 10 men. Two really good finishes from Clarke and DoDoo.
I thought their third was a nice move but out of nowhere really. It shifted the momentum back in their favour though and made for a very nervy ending.
Fantastic game to watch. Ricky's goal alone worth the ticket price.12 -
Wasn't there but it was hard enough just listening.
Back four needs to settle down and get the discipline needed for a team with promotion aspirations.
We won't outgun every team.
Having said that. Robinson is creating something a bit exciting. We've not had this level of team spirit and quality of attacking football for years.12 -
PS I'm using this pic of Jimmy Seed after a win, the gloomy looking one after a defeat
I think it was Holmes. Group of us had a great view and the ref looked at Holmes and Holmes reacted. But Bauer was in there as well so who knows. Not that it matters that much. The Red Robin said:
Also, the slow-mo of the red card decision is slightly misleading. Fane lifted his foot and went in studs up as Solly was smashing the ball clear. I think he only slightly clipped Solly, but he might have been a couple of inches away from something much worse. So I think the ref actually got that right.
I mentioned Fane being an influential player after the match at the Valley last year, and he was certainly influential yeasterday.
Oldham's number 6 (Gardner?) was one to watch. Dominated midfield when they were on top.1 -
saw them beat us, coincidentally 4-3, at their place last season .. they re a decent outfit .. BUT it's still early seasonkillerandflash said:Sounds like an epic
Peterborough drop their first points as they only draw at Doncaster, amazingly Shrewsbury are now second!
nice to see that we can win a game when we are kicked around a bit (I was not there to see it) .. still concerning that we conceded three though .. great start to the season for us0 -
What a bonkers game, from cruising to making hard work of it against ten men, to a bloody cab no show, still made all the effort worthwhile.0

The ref didn't see anything he reacted to the reactions of the players , solly wasn't worried about his foot he was holding his face it happened virtually in line with us in that stand , I spent the next twenty mins saying solly is not like the villain he was being made to be ,
Let's be honest that ref was toilet he had booked 6 and sent off 1 Oldham player off before he booked 1 cafc player some for absolute nailed on offences but at least 3 of the bookings handed out to Oldham were for things that he had pulled us up for with a free kick but no cards , he then booked 4 cafc players in the last ten mins for nothing offences he was in a complete melt down one of the worst I have ever seen in his ability to orchestrate and mange a game0 -
I thought the most extraordinary decision of the afternoon was the free-kick the ref gave Charlton when Bauer "fouled" Amos.11

I think Fosu is a great great talent a cracking player and a real nice bloke he was being interviewed at the side of the pitch yesterday and me and my Oldham pal were pulling faces at him before my pal joined the interview and gave the media boys a little piece
He took it brilliantly as did the guy from our media team credit to our club that kid footballing wise and in all other ways6 -

He had zero control over that game yesterday. There were some awful challenges on Solly, Fosu and Holmes that went completely unpunished.Sage said:
