- 9am ... 5pm: Absolutely nothing will happen, barely any news - 5pm: We'll suddenly get a tweet from the likes of Cawley saying there could be something happening - 5:10 - 10pm: the F5 button on 1,000 Charlton keyboards need replacing after being hammered to oblivion - 10:05pm: Cawley says that the deal has fallen through - 11:05pm: Karl Robinson rolls out his end of Window rant!!
Given that nobody in their right mind signs a player without a full medical and seeing as there have been no leaks to the press about in-comings, I think its highly likely we will be left short up front again. Its a pity as we do have the makings of a side for the first time in Duchatelet's ownership that looks competitive. He still needs to fork off btw.

Anyone making an "excuses bingo" card for when Robinson is wheeled out tonight to let us know why we failed to land a striker?
- Disgusted with the way certain clubs and individuals have conducted themselves - We had a couple where we had offers accepted but just couldn't get it over the line - The squad we've got is more than capable of competing if we don't suffer any unforeseen circumstances - We didn't feel it was worth bringing someone in who wasn't an improvement on what we've already got - We'll be in a good position to do business in the January transfer window - I'm just going to waffle at you constantly until you fall asleep or shoot yourself or forget what I'm actually talking about - I can't criticise the backing I've had from the president and CEO, but it's difficult trying to do business at the end of the transfer window
Fully expecting to be suitably infuriated by whatever bullshit he decides to regurgitate on behalf of his paymasters.
Actually hope this happens simply for the comedic tradition of the last two windows that he's done it!!
Apparently the Scum's transfer record is £800k for Paul Goddard, dating back to 1989. Can't see them spending that much, and thought he'd already announced this was gonna be his final season as a player.

If we can just afford to pay for Yann's last season, he can retire happily
Or we re-sign Yann... Get promoted, he decides he loves the club too much to retire so stays another three years to see us win promotion to the Premier League, win the Premier League and finally win us the Champions League by beating STVV 3-0 (Yann hat trick of course).
*Note throughout this; Roland still doesnt attend a Charlton match

i would be happy keeping this squad together and adding a prem/champ player on loan.
But most clubs would stipulate such a player needs to play a few games. Would we relegate Mag and Novak to the bench to accomodata a 20 year old striker in a 4-2-3-1 formation?
We've tried to sign the players Robinson wants and they are not available. There is very little point in us signing someone for the sake of signing someone.
If we can't get a keeper then Dillon Phillips stays. Not the best thing for everyone but it is best for the club.
If however novak goes then we must replace him with someone. Seeing as our choices are not available I don't think Novak will go anywhere this window.
So there's literally no one out there that's affordable and could at least compete with Magennis and Novak?
Sure there are. But do their clubs want to sell them, and do the players themselves want to move?
Premier League youngsters, Championship reserves, smaller League 1 clubs, League 2, Scotland, abroad, free agents? Must be someone out there more proven than RHF that isn't overpriced? This isn't like the years under Parkinson where the most we could afford was a nominal fee.
I get why someone like Grigg isn't available, but that was always likely to be the case.
Yes I know what you mean. It's the foreign player option that seems to have gone out of the window, oddly. But maybe our scouting network isn't geared up to recruit overseas, as Dreisen has been ditched (thank God!).
@CAFC official- Remember, club shop will be closing @ 14:45 this afternoon, so anyone wanting to get the names of any new signings printed on the backs of their shirts this evening can go whistle! #likethatsgonnahappen.
Good move for him... Be good to see him make the step up after his successful loan at Bromley last season. If Magennis | Novak | RHF get injured... Who is actually fourth choice as Striker now? - Is it some kid studying for his GCSE's as part of the U18 squad?
Olly from the press team is supposed to be quite good on his day.
