  • It amazes me that Diego never succeeded with a father who should have loads of experience with which to guide his son.

His dad should've told his son to stay put for another season or so. They chased the shiney shiney and the rest is history.

Gus did, was fuming with his son when he joined West Ham whilst away on holiday, let's just say things were a bit frosite in Poyet household for sometime after
When the poyet's lived in worlds end lane in chelsfield they always had what looked like armed security guarding their house.
I done a bit of work there from time to time and the atmosphere there was always a bit weird.
Not that that's got anything to do with Diego's downfall.
    Just saying.

They may have looked like they were armed (I assume you mean firearms), but that simply would not be the case......das iz verboten.

Sir Patrick Mayhew (RIP) lived near me and used to pop into my work occasionally, until the peace process was in full swing he was always discretely escorted by guys with sub machine guys. They were not over zealous but you knew they were there and it was an odd feeling.

I've never seen a sub machine guy. What do they look like?

Grrrrrr useless autocorrect/brain (delete as applicable)
  • Give hanlan a go up top on Tuesday

Injured and out for the next three weeks. Bromley have asked to take him on loan when he's fit until January but we're waiting to get another striker in before making a decision. If it happens it'll likely get done end of August.

Failing that they're also keeping an eye on Umerah.
  • Sorry if someone had already said this, but Poyet has had many better games for us than Watt; yes please

I have had better games for Charlton than Watt and I was a left back who played 25 mins at right wing for our u14 team 13 years ago
Aha, now I know what the 1990 stands for.
  • Marty Fryatt is without a club. Surely worth a trial for a league one club?

He has not played for 2 years due to injury.
    Perfect for us then.

Matt Godden for £1.5m according to evening standard.

I know nothing about him, anyone know how Stevenage played last year to know if he would fit into our system?
  • Won't be anything like 1.5m
  • 500 max, not in starting eleven
  • Thank god it says £1.5m I read the link and was like Whaaaaaaaaaat?

    So it's true?

  • Very good player for Ebbsfleet, who did well for Stevenage last year. Certainly knows where the goal is. Whether he could make the step up another level remains to be seen, but I think he could

Wouldnt be surprised... Ollie Watkins (16-goals) went from Exeter to Brentford last season...

Reckon Stevenage will want the same seeing that
  • Assume from being at Ebbsfleet he's a local(ish) lad?
  • Assume from being at Ebbsfleet he's a local(ish) lad?

Born in Canterbury according to his Wiki entry - Surprising that he started with Scunthorpe

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matthew_Godden
  • Had a loan spell with Dartford too

  • I can't see them getting anywhere what Exeter got for Watkins. He's 26, Watkins is only 21 so they're paying for potential as well.

yeah I would say the same, can't imagine them wanting less than 1mil though.

No idea, good player but not 1.5m good.
