The crucial factor in RH staying was RH wanting to stay. Whether that's through loyalty, a really good contract or inertia is irrelevant. Now seems unlikely SheffU offered him a big enough raise for him to consider uprooting again. At 30 a good contract would be a serious issue, this will most likely be his last chance to help secure his financial future. If he has a tough time in a poor team bumping along the bottom of the division, he and his agent will be reopening lines of communication to Sheffield around December time. If Wilder's still in post the chances of bids resurfacing would be good. roly's valuations of players are his own and faces that don't fit find themselves getting maneouvred to god knows where (CS, MM) It's definitely good news that RH is staying, for now. I doubt that more than one of the gaping holes in the squad will be filled by 31 August, let alone 4 August. Chin up.
Sell Novak and buy the entire University of Dublin first team.
Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing that I can imagine the current ownership to consider (but only because it'd be a bit incompetent).
We lost to University College Dublin, part of NUI. The University of Dublin would be Trinity College Dublin, and they would be a bit shite, by comparison.
"Oldham Athletic (loan)[edit] On 9 July 2016, Erwin signed for Oldham Athletic on a season-long loan.[30][31] He scored his first goal for Oldham in a 3–2 loss against Shrewsbury Town on 3 September 2016.[32]
In 40 Appearances in all competitions for Oldham Athletic during the 2016/17 season, Erwin scored 10 goals (8 in the league). With Erwin finishing the clubs Top Goalscorer for the season.[33]"
"Oh hey, [current Charlton goalie coach], sorry but you're sacked, one of our playing legends became available and someone on a messageboard said we should 'go get him' - I'm sure you understand"

Think @golfaddick was suggesting that we sign him up as a player...
After all we were prepared to play Bowyer last night

Yep - a whoosh moment there I think.............
I thought I'd leave the whooshing honours to yourself seeing it was a good original comment
C'mon lads/lassies, lets not get into CARD this and CARD that!! Everyone can make up their own minds as to what they think and then post on the relevant thread!! This is the transfer rumours thread, I log in to see what, if any, transfer rumours there are only to be confronted with completely irrelevant stuff. Any chance you can take your discussion off here? Thanks RedM
I wanted to go to Spain on holiday, CARD told me it was s*** so I went to Italy instead.
I'll drive him there myself & even pay for a meal on the way up too. Wont get more than half a dozen goals this season & not very good imo.
As for Henry - Oxford is a lot closer to Reading than SE7 or SE9 (training ground) & we already have enough wingers & again, imo, Stewart is better. Also, he's ex 'wall.

Ajose comes across as lazy, Watt is plain trouble.
