But I wouldnt have thought the EFL would give consent unless an agreement was in place otherwise they would spend valuable time on it when it may not come to fruition?
Exactly my thoughts, hence why I have my doubts as to what has been sent/lodged with the EFL.
They approved done deals, they are not a vetting agency for potential owners.

do we no for sure if the aussies are coming back to the uk this weekend I dont think they will
Why's that? Has @JamesSeed heard anything about them not coming back??? Or the thread has so many new posts every day that I missed it?
Don’t tell him Pike!
Sometimes I think that is the funniest moment in British sitcom. One of them anyway.
Unfortunately I have to borrow another line. ‘I know nothing’.
Last thing I heard everything was fine, but if it was all going horribly wrong I think they’d be highly unlikely to tell me, if I’m honest. I have asked a question, but it’s five in the morning over there.
But I thought they were over here from today
He went back for two weeks, and the two weeks aren't up yet. My contact (sorry to keep saying 'contact') also went back, to do work on his other business interests. If it was strictly two weeks, that would mean travelling back this weekend. It's a long old flight though. And things could have changed of course. Maybe because of problems with the EFL they're coming back early? If there really is a meeting on the 9th, then that could be the case.

Still time will tell.
The club sent the paperwork to the league.
Genuine question, who?
We don’t know how much, when, or exactly who are meant to be buying us, and diddly squat about the mysterious other bidders, and you are worried if it was Ethel or Kev that popped them in the post?

Chris Parkes.
Cheers Airman. Just wondered who's actually left at the club to do that.

I'd completely forgotten about Chris Parkes. At least there's someone half sensible there 'admin' wise

Is that “Don’t panic” as in don’t panic everything will be fine or “Don’t panic” don’t panic, don’t panic.
Let’s see where we are at the end of today.
Airman, Airman, Airman...
You do know you're leading with your chin, don't you?
I don’t think @redhenry is correct in this case. I had heard someone else might be reporting on the situation today, rather than an announcement of any kind, but looks as if that’s not going to happen now. But Muir is heading back, things are still rolling on. As the man said, don’t panic!
I hope it's wrong @Airman Brown but my source is usually good
I’ve continued to read every post on this thread. Personally, I am grateful to all those who post in good faith, sharing what they have heard or believe to be true. I don’t hold the posters responsible for what happens, or doesn’t happen subsequently. Things change. But it is shameful that the club have provided no information of value. Why on earth can’t they provide an update to supporters with some real facts.
But that’s why this thread has proved so popular / addictive. It’s the only place you might get a clue as to what’s going on. It’s just a shame the thread is riddled with bickering and egos. I don’t care who provides real information, so long as it is not deliberately false.
We’re surely near the end of this saga, but I do wonder why Duchatelet keeps going on about a second bidder. The recent ROT transcripts provide an insight into the deluded man’s thinking. He clearly has no grip on reality, nor, I suspect on the detail of the takeover. I wonder whether he thinks that Mike Ashley might still provide a bid to rival the Aussies. I wouldn’t be surprised.
I look forward to the end of this messy takeover so I don’t have to keep checking this thread every couple of hours, and I can enjoy a celebratory Pot Noodle.

The club is a joke run by jokers, and the joke isn't even funny. Keep your expectations very low and they will still disappoint you.
I heard fairly recently that the club tried to find out who was leaking info, by leaking false info to individuals, to see if it got passed on. That was a few months ago apparently, not sure if It's still the case.

I don’t normally swear, but fuck me. The club should be the ones passing out the information for fuck sake. The fact that the last announcement was issued only after there was a threat of demonstrations is a fucking disgrace. The fact that they have said nothing since is fucking worse. Someone needs their arse kicking to fucking Deptford.
Now look what they have done, a whole 6 months of fucks used up. Bastards.
Thrillingly I am able to take the wind out of @DOUCHER 's sails.
Yes, I've had a message from he who must not be named, and he has exclusively revealed to me (it's all about me of course), that..... you know what, I'll let him speak for himself .....
'Hi mate. I am back in Aus tidying up my other business interests. Everything progressing well.' [Name redacted for reasons of confidentiality].
Gentlemen as named and other parties involved herewith,
Addressing you with regrettable impatience (apologies) - in the simple vernacular wtf is going on please?!?!
Kindly be advised that Addicks are just sick to death of having had to subsist for far too many years on a diet of lies, obfuscation, (don't) need-to-knows, disparagement, secrets, more lies, disrespect, ignorance, prevarication, NDAs, blah-blah-blahs, you've guessed it yet more lies, undiscloseds, half-truths, porkies, bullshit, falsehoods (blatant), nonsense (arrant) and lies. And cobblers.
May it be humbly and respectfully suggested, therefore, that come the glorious day of liberation the club henceforth conducts itself under the following basic rules of corporate governance.
Rule 1 - unless there are pressing issues of discretion or confidentiality CAFC shall undertake all its activities in an open, inclusive, timely, constructive and above all truthful manner. All other rules - same as rule 1

Someone on Facebook has claimed the fit and proper testing panel will be at the World Cup, therefore the deal won’t go through until after the tournament has finished.

Ha ha ha put 50p in the meter and turn the water off the EFL are shut
There’s four of them here at Wembley shall I go and ask if the EFL is closed during the world cup

I’ve read that before, was probably somewhere on this thread.

This is 100% true
Doesn't surprise me as they've done it before in an attempt to 'catch' individual employees so they can get rid.
Problem is, they aren't all as stupid as certain short bald people think.
I think after all the shit we have had from Roland, and the amount of twists and turns with this takeover that we quite rightly overreact to the slightest bit of news
Genuinely believe this has just been a misunderstanding. I reckon the EFL have gone back and asked for clarification which is leading to some claiming it’s been rejected. I guess asking questions raises that possibility but for know I feel we all need to relax and remain as patient as possible
The only frustration for me is that time is ticking with regards to us building a squad. Every delay from the EFL increases the likelihood of us failing to build a promotion winning squad. We really cannot afford to panic buy in early August and then loan later in the month
That’s it . Instead of checking every 5 minutes to see what’s happened I’m now just going to check just once a day . This whole take over thing is farcical. Let’s face is . Nobody knows a bloody thing .

I ain't I the know and I don't pretend to be.
All I know is that the longer it takes the worse our chances next season.
