Ssh it's a secret.1

said it before, but having read another 5 pages of posts all I can come up with is Bob Bradlee's line in "All the President's Men"...............
when will someone go on the record in this f**king story0 -
We know, there are rumoured rumours; there are rumours we know are rumours. We also know there are rumoured unrumoured; that is to say we know there are some rumours we have not yet rumoured, but there are also unrumoured unrumoureds – the rumours we haven't rumoured we haven't rumoured. And if one looks throughout the history of our club and other basket case clubs, it is the latter category that tend to be the difficult ones.4

from what I can make out red herring is making it up as he goes along - aussies and brits are the 2 parties and the henrys Arabic panther is acting as some kind of decoy in the long grass - possibly with a mask onCroydon said:From OS statement regarding Bowyer:
“The takeover hasn’t moved as quickly as we had envisaged and it was important for those players and fans to know that whatever happens there will be stability.
“At this stage, there are still two parties looking to purchase the club and everything is close but a date for a takeover is not something I am able to put a timeline on because, as we have seen, these things can take longer than expected.”
The 2 parties being the Aussie's and Red Henry's lot I presume.
Smoke or mirrors ?
One day the truth will be out there and Rick will have a best sellers on his hands.
That's if he get it published before JJ.0 -
I’m not sure why a bit more information can’t be revealed.
We’re not asking for the nitty gritty but if it’s price or legal issues then why not just say so.0 -

That'll be "Leanne the Receptionist" who is now dealing with transfers in/out, players contracts and a hiring a new gaffer. She should get a pay rise,2

This is the point - the price has been agreed by 2 parties - tying up the legal bits is what is taking the time but others keep throwing rumours into the ring that take on life's of their own - that is why I challenge them, not to be a dicksillav nitram said:I’m not sure why a bit more information can’t be revealed.

This thread will still be trundling on in a few months time at this rate.0

Ok fair enough - no point arguing - I don't see anything that red Henry says that convinces me otherwise. Airmans Aussie source seems to get it wrong most of the time but you are probably as closely aligned to what I've been saying for months but nobody has actually put their neck on the line and said anything that disproves the line coming from the club other than vague hints if this and that - as people have said, it's boring - we will be sold by this summer and that hasn't changed since we were relegated0

Yet up until a few months ago "nothing is happening"3 -
Yeah, if true, to me that is not a good sign re funds available for promotion. Douchatelet took something like 12 days from start to finish when he bought CAFC and look how little he put in. This worries me this is going on week after week after week after month.DOUCHER said:My view - for what it's worth - is that 2 bids have been agreed but they still haven't come up with all the paperwork to conclude the deal / make their bid conpliant with the terms of the sellers 'tender' document. It's probably nothing to do with money but more about guarantees. Doesn't suggest either buyer is sitting on a pile of easily accessible cash but I'm only guessing as to the exact reason for the hold up - like everyone else.

That was because he didn't do proper due diligence and missed the old directors bonds.NapaAddick said:

But he got the club cheap as it was a distressed sale.
And he has spent lots of money, he's just spent it very very badly and on the wrong things.
again how long it is taking tells us nothing about the new owners or how rich they are.6 -
I'm working for a couple who remortgaged their house in the UK to the tune of £40k to renovate a tumbledown cottage here in France to be used as a holiday home. They signed a contract with a groundworks firm to install a pool to the tune of just shy of £30k, leaving numbnuts here to renovate the wreck of a house for £10k, incl. electrical install and handmade kitchen.Henry Irving said:

Let's go with this interpretation. This way everyone gets to be right.Airman Brown said:
I’ve not been able to find any evidence there is still a British group, beyond Murray saying that to staff at Sparrows Lane at the end of January. So my reading of it now is S Hamer/Saudis v Elliott/Aussies.daveydanger said:Doesn't everyone loosely agree on the facts? Name-calling aside, and correct me if I'm wrong, but Airman, Red Henry and Doucher are all basically saying the same thing:
1. There are three parties (total)
2. British group (possibly underfunded), Aussie group, Arab group
3. The British and Aussie groups were probably who Murray referred to as 'price agreed'
4. The Arab group may have pulled out at one point, but are now back/trying to get back in the frame
The argument from Doucher seems to be about which two parties were the 'main' ones... but as far as I can tell, nobody has ever really disputed or agued the toss over that point0 -
As we appear (counter-intuitively) to be no nearer to the takeover than we have been for several months, I thought I would go back and find some recent favourite comments. This won't add anything to the sum of knowledge about the takeover, but it has the huge advantage of having taken me a long time - so, maybe we *are* a bit closer to the takeover than we were when I started.
This, from @DOUCHER in February was glorious. "Your clearly an intelligent man". Imagine damning someone with such faint praise as to tell them they are intelligent, with the use of bad grammar? Genius.
@Uboat had a wonderful and simple description of RedBull in answer to @Harry Gregory saying he didn't know what it is. It's a description of genius.DOUCHER said:Your clearly an intelligent man Airman but just out of interest, is the source that told you it was imminent back in October, the same one that said it was a done deal last week?
Who could come up with a better description than that? Well, @BetterCallSaulUboat said:
You drink it when you've already been up for 16 hours and have to drive through the night. The effect is a cross between a wide awake feeling and the sensation that a heart attack could be only seconds away.Harry Gregory said:I am not sure what Red Bull is? I am sixty on Saturday and I know what fat coke, squash, good Cornish and Kent ale and last of all whatHorlicks is.

However, by then, @Fumbluff was beginning to show signs of stress.Airman Brown said:palarsehater said:a CEO of one of the sponsors, says he has has gone and will be confirmed as early as Monday.
Interesting. Excerpt is from the latest VOTV.
Sadly, the detailed itinerary @Davo55 prepared didn't come to pass.Fumbluff said:I don’t believe anything on this thread anymore.
I only come here for the pictures.

@Callumcafc offered to do his bit, to get it over the line...Davo55 said:1. Deal completed 18th Feb
2. Announcement 19th Feb
3. Partyyyyy 19th-23rd Feb
4. Mega celebration 24th Feb
5. Hangover to end all hangovers 25th-28th February
I'm a little bit scared
@NapaAddick came out with an absolute doozy...Callumcafc said:I'm already planning a protest if it's not completed by midday.
NapaAddick said:Over/under on this thread hitting 600 pages before the official announcement?
@AveryAddick posed a very difficult and serious question...
...but it was ok - @Solidgone had the answer...AveryAddick said:Training Ground update. U23 training today, few first teamers in that squad, but no first team training, on a Monday very unusual, where are they. ??????
@simonmatthews made a bold, confident predictionSolidgone said:They’ve been sold.
And then, @Fanny Fanackapan set the CL servers on fire...simonmatthews said:Looks like we've got Robinson as manager until the end of the season.....
I bloody love Charlton Life!Fanny Fanackapan said:Sadly, my patience is wearing very thin.
Decided at midnight that the time had come to opt out of this ongoing farce with the first step, parting company with certain apparel.....No point in anticipating any partying in the foreseeable future.
Easier said that done.
I lay across the bed.
Mr F pulled- I pushed.
But to no avail.
TBH, it was easier giving birth 40+ years ago.
What should have been a sprint became a marathon.....bit like this feckin Takeover.
We tried vaseline. We tried butter. We tried cooking oil.
Nada.
Totally exhausted, defeat was finally admitted & the decision made to sleep on it.
So, this morning, after much soul searching & lengthy deliberation, Fanny went under the knife. or rather, scissors.
And following a harrowing operation when certain parts of Fanny's anatomy were in severe danger, the job was done. (NB Please don't mention Brazil )
Much has been sacrificed by many in the hours spent on this ever disappointing thread.
But, lest we forget.....
Fanny came very close to giving her all.
RIP hot pants.17 -
I've said all I know apart from the identity. I'll say it again, various bids have been rejected and a new one is being prepared this week.12

No idea, just know that one party is bidding again.0
